Not trying to dampen ur parade but would an injury to Chris Wood not be a reason? Injuries to key players impact most teams at some stage during a season
You are literally talking about something that hasn’t happened and in Football you don’t plan on ifs.

A lot of those last 10 games may seem winnable on paper, but our campaign in the first round really took off when we won away at Man U. That was when the team felt like they could take on anyone, and it helped us make that incredible run up until (including) the Liverpool game. After that, everyone just ran out of steam a bit and it inevitably led to the slump we're now just getting out of. We need a similar result now to fire everyone back up, otherwise it will be a week-to-week nail-biter. The point vs Arsenal was a step in the right direction, but we need a good win, to score goals in front of our crowd and find our stride again. I don't think it can be vs City, but maybe a convincing Man U home win could do the trick.

Was far more upbeat after the final whistle on Wednesday than i have been over the last couple of weeks - mainly due to the performance.

Watched the game in a sports bar in London whilst working away and got talking to some Gooners during and after the game, and they think we're stick ons for the Europa League at worst and actually think top 4th is a 50/50. They couldn't understand why i was playing it all down and would be happy for 7th/8th (or any Euro place).

TBH - they wished Forest well and liked the fact we were upsetting the apple cart.

I work with a right mixture of fans across the EPL and below.
There is a lot of 'good feeling' for Forest out there.
Virtually everyone I speak to wants us to qualify for UCL - just like everyone was behind Leicester a few years back

Yeah i get that feeling too. Also spoke to some West Ham and cockney Liverpool fans (you can't make it up) and they wanted us to finish top 4 too.

Mostly Villa around these parts and they say the same, just as long as it's not at their expense.

I think we're starting to show a few signs of wear and tear and extra time last night won't have helped. So I'm cautiously optimistic right now.

Relief!
Last night Ipswich played us at our own game, a low block and packing the midfield then breaking quickly.
Fortunately, they didn’t have the quality to really hurt us on the break.
However, we didn’t have the quality to open them up, and for most of the game it was a bit of a stalemate.
We will need better creative and striking players recruited in the summer, if we are to sustain our top 6 credentials.

Absolutely.

I'm revising my predictions/hope down a bit exactly because of that.

Like MASE I think 63 is probably a reasonable figure. 15 points from 11 games, mid-table type form.

I think with that we finish 6th or 7th. Man City and Chelsea will likely overhaul us with that sort of finish, and then I suspect Newcastle probably just pip us into 6th too. For us to finish lower would require Bournemouth, Brighton or Villa to take 20 points from their final 11 games - that's a big ask for those teams. Maybe one of them does it, but chances two or three? Not convinced.

If we can turn 63 points into 66+ (18pts from 11) then we're an absolute shoe-in for top five and a 60/40 chance of top 4.

I'm not sure we need too many personnel changes, just focus on developing a few tactics for breaking down teams who are sitting in. If we keep who we have and have a full pre season working on it then I would expect improvement.

Might involve one or two coming but creativity already exists in the squad.

With these final few games it just comes down to who nicks it on the night, or whenever. They will mostly be incredibly close, I reckon. So more nerve-wracking penos.

Does the team collectively need:

1. A good blow-out, carnival style

2. A soft hand round the (bruised) shoulder and more Dubai messing around.

3. Billy big bollox "Yes we can" American seminars

4. Carrington street, with Ladbrokes and the Midland hotel 1977

5. The proverbial rocket up them

Or, Rest and Be Thankful for the good times are back!

( I favour a combination of these and in Nuno we trust).

Back-to-back clean sheets and 4 points from 6 versus Arsenal and Man. City is pretty spectacular stuff. There are not many world football who would not take that if offered.

Landmark wins 22/23 (Cooper)
West Ham (H) first one back in PL
Liverpool (H)
Arsenal (H)

23/24 (Cooper/Nuno)
Chelsea (a)
Villa (H)
Newcastle (a)
Man. Utd. (H)

24/25 (Nuno)
Liverpool (a)
Man. Utd. (a)
Villa (H)
Brighton (H)
Man. City (H)

The measure is arbitrary and others may put other results right up there in their books, but the trend is nonetheless clear. We're improving and the rate of improvement is also increasing 👏🔴

What do you reckon the value of our squad is now on the open market?

A lot more than we paid.

Of course the mood is great after Saturday, but it's a good job we did win as Brighton winning at the death and Villa & Chelsea winning didn't help.

I think 4 wins will get us a Europa spot now and tbh i'd take it.

Yeah for sure, I know we 'consolidated third place' as the media told this us this weekend, but any kind of European place would be fine with me.

Looks more likely that the PL will get 5 CL places this year. Last year 5th placed Tottenham finished on 66 points.

So thats 5 wins away. 6th placed Chelsea finished on 63 points which is only 4 wins from our last 10 games. 7th which will most likely be European football is only 3 wins and a draw away.

So feeling very hopefully we will be playing in Europe next year.

It genuinely feels like the night before Christmas. Yes we didn't expect this to happen this season. Yes we'd be disappointed if it all fell away. But something REALLY exciting could happen, and I genuinely can't wait to see if we've peaked or things can get even better before the end of the season
