11 games left for the season and we are THIRD.

I still find it so hard to believe looking at the table!

With just a point vs City, we won't drop below 4th. And then we can give it our all.

And that's with what is probably the entire Prem's shortest rotation (using basketball terms here, but you get what I mean hopefully.) Some of our players can't even afford to catch a cold, let alone get injured. With all the physical and mental toll that takes.

Not to mention that few of them have been in similar situations before, fighting for UCL places against some of the top teams in Europe.

Really proud of all of them. What. A. Season.

The thing I love about this side is they never give up. If they do something poorly the previous week they work their arse of to correct it next week & it’s why we have stayed where we are for so long now.

Sometimes you have to step back & think back to 12 months ago how hard earnt wins were & how special each one felt.

Well said. I feel theirs been a bit of entitlement creeping in recently (and that might just be my recent mindset rather than an actual thing), but to be in a position to fight for a European place at this point is such an incredible achievement.

What I'm not going to do is get all upset and point fingers if it falls from our reach - whether we do or don't we've gone toe to toe with everyone this season, and I've loved it. So proud of Nuno and the lads.

I think it's important as we go through this rocky patch to take a step back and view the season as a whole. Imagine back in August someone told you "at the end of February your form will be LWLLD", you'd be like, yeah, sounds familiar, hope we're not in the drop zone. Then they said "... and you're in third, still 4 points clear of 6th place". You'd fall off your chair.

Incredible achievement no doubt.
We've occupied the business end of the table for long enough to start talking big, like a team who belongs there.

Any indifferent team or individual performance doesnt always have to come with the caveat we've done great to get here. These are the levels now.

More importantly I suspect the owner has enjoyed it to the point he wont want us much lower.

I don't match his ambition: I went to the game last night believing this would probably get to be the last time I visit the city ground with my dad in late February fighting out a second v third in the prem.

I'll happily let the others do the big talk. I don't believe these are levels that we'll sustain, though I'm more than happy to let the big fella have a crack.

Big boost to see the resilient defence back vs Arsenal. I think I read they have the most goals from corners in Europe and we pretty comfortably defended 11 of them.

Went to bed last night grinning like the proverbial Cheshire Cat.

That point meant that it becomes just that bit more difficult for some of the teams to catch us quickly. It puts us one more game ahead of them. And games are running out.

What a joy the season is becoming and with that joy comes a different sort of nervous twitch. Now instead of each point becoming a point necessary to save our season it's a point to elevate our season even more.

Still amazed at where we are. Little worried that we have been worked out of late and that we dont have more options.

Start of the season i said 50 points would be the best we could get, but anything over 40 was obvious improvement.

So yeah the recent down turn hurts but oh my god we are still 3rd......

Yup, it's exactly why last night's point was so important. They needed to show themselves first and foremost that they can reset and go again. And it was done.

Remaining games after Man City..
Ipswich (A)
Man Utd (H)
Villa (A)
Everton (H)
Spurs (A)
Brentford (H)
Palace (A)
Bin Dippers (H)
West Ham (A)
Chelsea (H)

Keep fighting Forest.

I reckon there's 18+ points in that run including Man City.

That should see us finish top six minimum, with a 60/40 chance of top 4.

We took 28 points out of 30 from these games in the reverse fixtures, only dropping points against Chelsea - and we almost won that one!

We can probably produce the same results barring injuries.

The opening 10 fixtures of the second half of the season are as follows with the result in the first half also given:
1st half 2nd half points difference
Wolves. D. W. +2
Liverpool. W. D. -2
S’hampton W. W. 0
Bournemouth D. L. -1
Brighton. D. W. +2
Fulham. L. L. 0
Newcastle L. L. 0
Arsenal. L. ?
Man City. L. ?
Ipswich. W. ?

We are currently achieving 1 point better than the first half of the season and even if we lose the next 2 will still be 1 point better! Ffs we should all be absolutely ecstatic and not be beating ourselves up as we continue through this run of games against the ONLY 4 teams who beat us in the first half of the season
After the Arsenal game we are now 2 points better than the first half and after City we’ve beaten every team, except Chelsea, in the remaining games. It really is unfuckingbelievable and I’m in dream land 😊

I had this before the Newcastle game:

Newcastle(A) - Lose
Arsenal(H) - Draw
Man City(H) - Lose
Ipswich(A) - Win
Man Utd(H) - Win
Aston Villa(A) - Draw
Everton(H) - Win
Spurs(A) - Lose
Brentford(H) - Win
Palace(A) - Draw
Leicester(H) - Win
West Ham(A) - Draw
Chelsea(H) - Draw

Which gives us 67 points. Looking back my mood is that it might be a tad optimistic. Ave for 5th spot historically is 68 points although Opta thinks 63 will do it this season.

Think we'll end on 63points.

Where does that leave us?

Was far more upbeat after the final whistle on Wednesday than i have been over the last couple of weeks - mainly due to the performance.

Watched the game in a sports bar in London whilst working away and got talking to some Gooners during and after the game, and they think we're stick ons for the Europa League at worst and actually think top 4th is a 50/50. They couldn't understand why i was playing it all down and would be happy for 7th/8th (or any Euro place).

TBH - they wished Forest well and liked the fact we were upsetting the apple cart.
