if we start with grabban as our main striker in the opening game , good luck to the new season.
Da Costa is coming backI very much doubt that will be the case. We'll probably sign someone a few years older to replace him.

Thought you would enjoy thatNearly spat my coffee enema out.
Or as they say in Italy, "Da Costa mi Coffee"
Da Costa is coming back
Seems odd unless we've someone better lined up. Taylor wasn't great by any means, but not sure where we'll get a better 3rd choice backup striker from.
I take it as an encouraging sign that Hughton's confident of having several new strikers at the club this pre-season.
Would say give him to Lincoln for a year but his wages are probably way out of their depth
He would be fine at Championship level, when he had a run of games I thought he was a decent player, he was a handful. When he wasn't playing regular he lost his sharpness and resorted to trying to buy cheap free kicks all the time instead.
I don't think he's terrible, but he clearly isn't a player the manager wants. I also get the feeling that he doesn't want to be here, and think he only signed for us because there wasn't a club closer to London that were willing to offer a good wage (I remember reading somewhere that he turned down a move to Sunderland when he joined Charlton due to location).
It's best for all parties if he moves on, IMO.
but I doubt it will ever happen for him here so it's pointless keeping him IMO.
Sure, but that's, of course why we have no budget for players.
Until we stop behaving like teenagers with ADHD and give someone, anyone a chance we will remain a charity for footballers who can't be arsed to kick a ball...
I agree that this club writes off players too quickly in a lot of cases (the quick binning of Da Costa and Ioannou spring to mind), but the player themselves have to want that chance; I'm not convinced Taylor actually wants to play for us. I'd sooner see him off the wage bill to make room for someone else.
What gives you that impression? Seems to me that it’s just a case of him not being Hughton’s cup of tea.
For what it’s worth, I think he’s alright. For all the stats boffins saying we created lots but couldn’t finish, that’s not what my eyes tell me. I thought we created very few good chances to score last season.
If we can find a more reliable way to create next year, whether it’s better crossing or just more slick interplay in the final third, I think Taylor would make a useful option.
Probably moot though because having replaced him with a bloke with all the mobility of an iceberg, I don’t think Hughton rates him at all.

That does't surprise me
There was at least 2 occasions when he was straight through on goal with only the keeper to beat and he missed them both. He runs about like a headless chicken - But so does a headless chicken but headless chickens don't score goals and nether has Lyle Taylor, so he needs to go as well and free up wages for someone who just might.
2 occasions he missed a goal and you want to write him off!!!!!
Jesus....
I can name countless players who've looked a far worse bag of spanners due to lack of fitness, sharpness etc including Watson and Danny Fox (two favourite forum punchbags for a while) but the big one that made me really think you need a run to properly get a handle on them was Kevin Campbell. He looked a complete and utter carthorse the first season we had him (when he clearly wasn't fit or sharp), I can remember him missing goal after goal in every situation and yet when he got to his level and was sharp later on in his stay with us he turned out pretty decent and in fact he was probably the most deadly one on one that I've seen in the Garibaldi for quite some time.
And freeing up wages?. It will cost us several million just to get him out of the place.
I was going to say, I know the two misses referred to and I can’t remember many more opportunities than them where he should’ve definitely scored.
