And as we go into the 2nd games... Forest move up the table to 15th as Aston Vile get a right tonking at Newcastle.
We're going up the league!
Easy! Easy! Easy!

Why have you put Awoniyi in goal and Turner at centre forward?
Your team sheet layout reminds me of Jim Maxwell commentating on the Ashes: wickets first then runs.
It is just bad form... typical of a convict.
So, please redo the team sheet with the goalie at the top, then the back 3/4/5
Then the 2 holding midfielders
Than the attacking midfielders
Then the striker(s).
You know it makes sense.
Just do it!!
They say the best defence is a good offence so it's simple really. We put our attackers in defence, they'll never see it coming.

Yates Mangala

Awoniyi

(Team is injuries aside) Let’s smash them!!!!

I thought Yates was poor against Arsenal but he is the perfect type of player for a game vs Sheffield United.

3-0 Forest.

Going to be a totally different game. They are going to come and park the the bus and we are going to have to break them down. MGW is going to be so important for games like this. Danilo might also show his worth if the game is crowded.

I would also not risk starting players who are still not 100 percent match fit. Coming on for the final 30 minutes fresh might be the difference. We have options so time to play it smart.

Just hope in the ground the fans don't get onto the team if they are not dominating after 20 mins. First home game of the season against a team who probably see this as their derby match for this season......Cup match for them. A win and we are up and running, a draw will be a disappointment and a loss and then the toxic elements will have a field day.

Haha, hungry horice beat me to it. I was waiting for this thread to open up the whole 'must win' nonsense!

Technically it's not.
… I agree, and with 36 games to come after Friday, winning losing or drawing determines nothing.
That said, I don’t think anyone should underestimate the importance of Friday’s game.

It will be interesting to see how we approach this. It will be the first game in ages where we won't be expected to give up the majority of the ball. Is this Cooper's opportunity to try something different or will he stick to his tried and tested low block?

One things for certain, Sheffield United will try and turn this into a Championship slog. Expect all sorts of black arts from them.

I'm going 3-1 Forest

Don't think Cooper will make huge changes for this. Only real change I see would be Awoniyi in and a CB out. The cries for Elanga, Johnson, Awoniyi and MGW is great and very attacking but I can't see Cooper going for it - at least to start. 4-5-1 with Brennan, MGW and Danilo ready to pounce and support Taiwo given the opportunity.

Hopefully we're a few goals to the good by the hour mark and Elanga can come on and Wood can give Taiwo some respite.

Sheffield United will be no pushovers and will view this as a game they can win. We need to make sure it's not both in quality on the pitch and the unwavering support in the stands.

Yep, seen a couple of suggested lineups with no Danilo, but I would go with Taiwo in for a CB too. Defensive personnel changes aside, that's exactly the team that started against Southampton and scored 4 goals. Let's just hope we defend better than in that game!

I'd take 4-3!! I'd also suggest that the departing Southampton were better than the incoming Sheffield United.

4-1 Forest would be bloody marvellous! To be honest, they'll be no pushover. I understand, especially given our early away fixtures, fans that think this is an easy 3pts but there are no easy games and it'll be a match they will be identifying as possible points.

We’ve got to drop Yates for this. If Niakhate is back we need to drop Worral as well.

Turner

Aina
Nikhate
Boly
Aurier

Danilo
Mangala

Elanga
MGW
Johnosn

Awoniyi

Let’s try and dominate these. Unfortunately it’s almost a must win. Just because we don’t want to lose confidence with all the games we have coming up!

Playing Devil’s Advocate a bit but if we don’t win then the seeds of doubt will be sown and toxic elements will be rife. It's a massive "should win and need to win if we are to start thinking beyond just survival again because if we cant beat them, how will we beat x, y, z??"
