It all seemed worryingly familiar at half time. Two quick fire goals, a worldy pinging in from 25 yards. The ball coughed up within 0.6 seconds of getting hold of it

But we weren’t awful. We’d had the best chance of the half at 0-0. The back three had stood up pretty well to most of what Arsenal threw at them

With current personnel and their respective levels of fitness I can’t disagree with Cooper’s game-plan but the changes made a huge impact. Elanga hitting the burners was a moment! He and Williams both did well coming on but the importance of Big Taiwo is HUGE!!! He looked like the Hulk, CGI’d on the Emirates turf, stampeding his way from the edge of our box to the Gooner 6 yard line. TAIWO SMASH!!! He needs wrapping in cotton-wool, bubble-wrap, the lot and keeping fit for a full season. If he continues on from the way he finished last year the bigger boys will be having a serious look at him

In the end we made a contest of it. Not something we managed often last campaign. So something to work with away from the WFCG

Positives
- Good debuts from Turner and Aina
- Elangas rocket boots
- Awoniyi back and off the mark
- Not being in the bottom 3 week 1

Bring on the Blunts…

Loads better than I expected. A loss was always on the cards. So being competitive, good triple debut, a sweet classic counterattacking goal from Elanga and Taiwo, and not starting with a horrible goal difference, are all positives. Clear that we still need another ball playing rapid CB, ball-winning and retaining CM, and a proper Taiwo deputy who could have started today. I also struggle to see where BJ fits in this system, unless we plan on mixing things up and playing 4-2-3-1 for "easier" home games like on Friday.

The league is weaker this season and even now before the window is closed, we are as strong as the team we had from Jan onwards, which had lower-mid-table form, so we'll be fine!

Just returned from the Emirates with mixed feelings.
I thought Arsenal toyed with Forest for an hour and I feared a 4 or 5 goal drubbing.
However-we were much improved when Awoniyi entered the fray and could even have grabbed an
unlikely point in the final stages.
My main conclusion is that we desperately need to add firepower up front or I fear the worst.
Hopefully we can put the Blades to the sword on Friday night.

Difficult to rate the midfield today given how fast Arsenal are getting the ball back - really impressed with the way they go after it is n the occasions they lose possession. Thought Yates was probably the best of the bunch just on huff and puff and breaking things up really... not a game to remember from any of them.

As well as Turner and Aina I thought the back three all had decent enough games. Taiwo made all the difference when he came on and credit to Elanga for his direct running and assist.

Awoniyi was AWESOME when he came on. Made us look a different side.

Hope the board backs SC with a couple of real quality editions before the window, especially since we lose a lot of our core to AFCON.
