I don’t think it was a penalty either, but it was worth bringing up for the next time VAR gives a soft one like that. Not that they’ll remember it on MOTD obviously.
If VAR did not review it then that needs looking into - clearly a ball that was goal bound hit the arm of a defender. Whether it is deemed a penalty or not is one thing but if VAR didn't even review it.... that's a problem, IMO.

Don’t know if it’s because I’ve been sat with Arsenal fans all day, but I wasn’t nearly as impressed as most seem to have been. The first half was crap for application, intensity, competitiveness - things that we could have offered even against a team as good as Arsenal. I thought that was concerning. Passing and possession was poor but that’s the quality of the oppo. That we were still in it late on was more about Arsenal’s fannying about than anything we were doing. We had absolutely nothing till Awoniyi and Elanga came on.

Still, these first 6 games are going to be about keeping chins up so if players and fans come away buoyed by the last 10 mins then great. But I thought we were really sluggish 🤷🏻‍♂️

I didn’t know whether it was a penalty, I wouldn’t have minded an explanation of why it wasn’t or preferably any comment at all about Forest, the team or the performance. They said nothing about us.

Let's just accept we're going to be relegated and we can just 'enjoy' the rest of the season without expectation.

really mate, I don't know if your on the wind up or just one of the doom and gloom merchants. regardless I'll remember to skip any future comments I see by you if they are of that quality.

Declan Rice handall - for me it should have been given or at least VAR should have made some sort of effort to check it.
His hand/arm's not in any sort of natural position prior to it being hit by the ball....

I guess the Arse's brown envelope stuffed with 50's is bigger than ours.

Jonno takes that early chance and it may have been 2-2. Or the potential handball penalty . Given most of our key players have had injury troubles over the break, and several key signings not yet made , I'd have taken a 1-2 scoreline happily before start of play. And that break from Taiwo / Elanga/ Taiwo gives a tantalising glimpse of what we may be able to do.

We got completely outplayed and somehow still could have grabbed a point with a half baked squad. Against a top 3 side. Better than expected.

That chance Johnson had might have changed the game so much. Disappointing he didn't try to take it round the keeper, I reckon Ramsdale would have given away a penalty.

In fairness, Ramsdale saw the danger really early, and was out so quickly to Johnno, that he didn’t really have many options. Really good goalkeeping

if it was awoniyi, i believe he would have scored, johnson doesn't have the composure nor skill, with ramsdale looming large coming at him,he would either take a snapshot or lift it over him but as it was, it was way over and totally off target. He'll learn, hopefully.

Didn't record the game so can't go back and check but pretty sure for one of our corners worrell is being held down center of goal by his shirt. The camera view from the opposite corner captured it perfectly. Is that no longer a penalty?

I guess we have consistency of some sort as VAR didnt take a look at Luton's penalty claim either - though theirs was given by the ref and clearly not a penalty on the replay.

I'm glad we are in a position to discuss what might have been rather than shrugging our shoulders and saying it was a free hit anyway

Should he be getting done for fouling our player looking at that arm?

Not if it is against a top 6 club

MOTD showed the highlights, discussed Arsenal’s game, gave a non explanation that there was no penalty and on to the next. They p*ss me off.
Welcome to the Premier League.

Nobody gives a shit about us now. We're not a story now we've been up a year and have a reasonably settled squad so we've just slipped into that middling nothing category along with Palace, Wolves and Bournemouth and probably a few others until we eventually go down or get into Europe.

We're not from London, we're not newly promoted, we aren't doing anything ridiculous, we're not a massive club struggling like Everton so we're just sort of fading into the background now.

The 30,000 or so (plus the thousands who can’t get tickets) that turn up at the City Ground every home
game might disagree,Omar.
