Not as bad as folk are making out, he's clearly talanted but his decision making is poor & can be erratic but he's still a young player

At the end of the day he's a reserve left back

Has he headed a ball yet? Don't think I've seen his feet leave the floor

Reckon Nuno must see it as a “project” to try and drum some footballing sense into him.

We don't have the space nor time to undertake any projects.

We need points on the board.

We can re-assess projects in summer depending on what league we're in.

Yeah, "projects" should be getting time in cup games, not time against some of the most beatable opposition which we're gonna play in the League.

Maybe he'll come good, maybe he won't, but if Sels reduces mistakes from the keeper position, then Toffs would be a better option to sort those from the fullback one.

Genuinely don't get what we're playing at here tbh. Just have to wonder what I'm missing?

Hey, i’d pick Toffolo too. Just trying to figure out the thought process. Maybe he likes seeing his namesake on the field? I dunno.

There were a couple of times against Arsenal that Toffolo got buried for pace against Saka. Maybe that’s what’s troubling the manager? From my POV at least Toff is usually in roughly the right region/half of the pitch.

Tavarez does move us up the pitch quickly. Which, for a predominately counter-attacking side, is useful.

He's shit and a calamity waiting to happen, but I can kind of see why the manager picks him.

Hopefully he sees it's not worth the cost fairly soon.

This is my take on it. Bournemouth had swift wide men too. We need to bring the ball forwards at pace so a pacey full back is a good thing.

Tavares is good on the ball, but is too head down and his passing is dodgy to say the least. Plus he seems to want to shoot from 30 yards far too often!

Absolutely spot on - he can't defend and his final ball/decision making is shite - his only asset is he carries up the park quickly
