Burke carvallho lolley

Some attacking quartet that. I wonder how much they would want for him and he's definately someone that could rip this league up.

I wouldn't be against Ollie Burke coming back. He fits the winger bill perfectly

Id suspect that Watson will be for West Brom too - Luke Dowling, who recently also returned there, said he was the best signing he ever made for Watford.

Interesting that. I doubt we'd get much for Watson but it would be great if he could form part of a swap plus Cash for Burke. Obviously that's if he's even on AK's radar but you would hope others inside the club from prior to his time would have givin AK the heads up on him.

What makes you think that Burke would regain his form if he came back?

Seems to me people want to buy the player we sold rather than the player he has become in seasons since his departure.

More game time would be a key component. Obviously nothing is guaranteed with any transfer but he certainly has the ability & showed in the 25 games he did play for us exactly that he could hit the ground running.

I'd like to hope we are looking at better players than Burke.

I rarely understand the obsession with bringing ex players back to the club, but particularly when they only played a handful of games and still had a lot to learn.

To be a bit controversial I'd think about getting Clough back off loan, think he played shit in a shit team. We own him and may a lot better when we are full of confidence

Don't see any place for Clough in this current team, nor is he of the required quality

If we can get any money at all for him we should do so

He isn't particularly excelling at Rochdale.

Three million quid!

Puts the £13m we spent on Carvalho into perspective

It's always the way with former players.

The guy's spent three years sitting on benches stagnating and I'd imagine he's lost all momentum in his development.

West Brom wouldn't let him go for cheap either.

On yer bike
Smith - Always liked him, but he should crack on while he can
Henderson - I was better in goal even when I let in 5 against Henry Mellish
Bridcutt - shame for him
Yates - needs a Worral type loan

In Limbo
Tachtsidis - The greek gods will tell us
Janko / Bryam - Only one will stay...probs Janko
Ariyibi - Is he closer to the first team than we think?

Should go but good to have about the place
Murphy - I think he's happy with the odd cameo
Watson - He will find his chances limited
Goncalves - Fluffer to Dias & Carvalho, single-handedly keeping Flannels in business.

How many is that out then?
That's minimum 4, almost certainly 5 (with Bryam) and perhaps as many as 10 who we could function with without feeling any lose of options or quality.

And in?
Maybe as few as 2...

1x Midfield superstar - A hyper charged Gueds basically
1x LB

But knowing Karanka and his boyz
We'll see at least 1 new midfielder, a new LB, a new GK and another big money number 10 to challenge Carvalho. Maybe another winger too.

Summary
If we're still in and around the top 6 come Jan we will see a lot of activity. I feel Karanka will like to see the nucleus of a settled team for next season whether we go up or start as serious favourites for the Championship title.

It's not pining for an ex-Forest player, it's pining for a player who has what we are crying out for in terms of pace and physical presence, in a position which we need those attributes most in.

I don't care if it's Burke or someone else, but we do need a right winger who is strong and fast and can carry us forward. Burke seems a likely option to fit that bill, that's all.

On another note, if there's opportunity to get rid of Watson then we should take it. Said previous page we should ditch Colback but that was only under the thought we needed to lose a centre midfielder or three and we weren't going to be in a position to move on Watson about six months into his contract here.

Yacob and Colback as the more defensive of the pivot with Guedioura or Canttouchthis as the more advanced is fine to continue to end of season. We also have Yates who can slot in either of those roles.

Leaving Bridders and Watson free to find another club. If we can get rid, great.

I agree we could do with a player possessing those attributes, but a team pushing for promotion should be looking at players who could have a bigger impact from the outset imo. It would probably take Burke a month or two to become match fit for a start.

It's certainly a concern that Clough struggles to even get off of the bench there Ravi.

He's either suffering a pretty serious crisis of confidence, or that period when he scored a few goals for Bolton that persuaded al-Hasawi to buy all of the agent's spin (not a particularly difficult task for any reasonably competent representative) was simply a one-off career high?
