Going Back to the City Ground

How are we all feeling about it? I don't want to say Post Coronavirus because it's going to be knocking around regardless but do we think there will be any changes
Testing at the turnstiles, face masks, no queueing for food etc.. or will it largely be as it was before?

I can't actually decide whether or not to buy a season card. Normally, I share my dad's but he's retired now so he wants to be going every game.
On the one hand, it's been 490 days since we've been allowed to watch Forest and I missed going, especially with my old man. I don't just miss the football, I miss the crowd, the shit food, the noise etc..

That being said, can't say i've been massively entertained with us as a club in the last 490 days and the lack of any kind of movement this summer so far has me a little sceptical.
I'd probably have spent the money on a season card last year but in the cold light of day, £365 seems a lot. Right now, the seat next to my dad is available though and might not be for much longer.

Is anyone else in a similar boat? I'd appreciate the advice.

I can’t pretend I’m a little nervous about being close to so many people again but I am excited about watching live footie again.

I think I’ll be ok once I’m seated but I shalln’t be moving around the concourse and queuing for a coffee and will wait until the crowds have dissipated before leaving.

Went to the semi final at Wembley, Wednesday night and it hit me like a train how much I’ve missed being at live games

I can’t wait to be back at my second home

Yes,I'm looking forward to seeing Forest play live again-although I think it's likely that the attendances
will be down due to a degree of nervousness in some quarters.
I shall definitely be there ,but people need to make their own choices and decisions.

Personally I can’t wait to get back to the Ground, So look forward to Home Matches, especially love the Saturday Experience, the Drive to the Ground, the Walk over the Bridge, taking in the Atmosphere, you can’t beat it, I’ve also just bought a Season Card for my 18 year old Daughter and she can’t wait to go to along with my Son, my advice is to grab that Seat next to your Dad and look forward to the Hopefully good times to come.

I don’t think I have a problem going back watching again, but I think Forest have missed us more than we’ve missed them and my expectations are pretty low for next season.

The year out seems to have broken the link with my Dad, and he’s not renewed. Didn’t fancy schlepping up every other week on the train on my own so I didn’t renew either.

We’ve both got a final ticket for Sunday though. That might reignite some flames.

Yep. I'll be there for the first home game of the season. Missed it like crazy even though we have been pretty crap since the shutdown.

Agree that I might be a bit nervous around big crowds. But sod it, let's do this. Let's get back to the world famous City Ground.

As I remarked in the Crowds To Return thread, I'll be looking to avoid the Main Stand concourse as much as I can.

Looking forward to it.

But if it’s a load of bullshit with scanning phone apps, track and trace and sat wearing a mask you won’t see me return.

QR codes, T&T, SD and face coverings are all apparently going (or not being mandatory) from 19/7 anyway. I agree with you they would annul the enjoyment of going to a match.

Nor would covid put me off going anyway - though I'm not sure I'd be going to that many matches anyway. I'd hope they will keep up the video passes, given that realistically, it isn't going to divert from match attendance.

I'm under a self-imposed lockdown until Spring next year at the earliest anyway, so will be sticking to streams & wireless for next season, with maybe the odd game late season if everything goes to plan.

I'm nervous for mates still going though. So many unknowns.

If this is related to your recent hospital visit, my very best wishes for the best possible outcome.

I can’t wait. It feels like a long time. Watching Forest is a hollow experience without being at the CG with thousands of other fans.

I won't get the CG much personally (just looking forward to lock non-league football).

But I imagine initially it will be brilliant. The atmosphere at Wembley for the last couple of England games can be attributed to the size of the match. But I don't think it's just that. It has to have been helped by those fans being part of a big crowd for the first time in fifteen months. In the same way the atmosphere in Budapest and Copenhagen sounded great in the first round.

At Forest before the novelty wears off, there will be less negativity and apathy and a lot more enthusiasm and noise. The derby atmosphere could be pretty special, shame that one is away.

Looking forward to being back, even though I think we are going to struggle this season. Watching streams of games played in empty stadiums is no substitute for live football.

Even watching non-Forest games on TV, it feel soulless without fans. I think one of the reasons I've enjoyed Euro 2020 so much is fans being in the grounds again.

 I'll be fine wi that coz most the ale there is 90% water anyway Ray

I bet there aren’t many pubs left are there Alf? Last time I passed through there was only The Gate near the market place, that one up t’Model might still be open, it was difficult to tell as half the place looks semi-derelict

Aye, most have long shut like the Drum.

There's still the WMC's going strong, but it's probably got half as many pubs as it used to. It was never great, but it was a laugh for finishing off a Sunday day session. Chip-Cob's Northern disco was worth it for the comedy alone.

It's f***ing shocking what's become of the market & centre. It's totally dead and lifeless compared to the 80's & 90's.

I think the normality of going will quickly resume, I think we are all a bit anxious but I still cannot wait.

I'll definitely get a few trips over this season. As for the other games, is there any sense that ifollow will continue this year or was that only because fans weren't allowed to attend?
