The „Americas, Asia and Other World Football“ Thread!

I didn't want to start a new thread for this and since I used to post South American results on the old thread, I decided to post it here.
Copa Libertadores and Sudamericana have reached the quarterfinal stages. Both River Plate and Boca Jrs were eliminated in the round of 16, River by Velez Sarsfield 1-0 on aggregate and Boca by Corinthians 0-0 aggregate and 6-5 on penalties. Here are the quarterfinals (2-4 Aug & 9-11 Aug).
The tie getting all the hype is defending Brazil Serie A champions and Copa do Brasil holders Atletico Mineiro vs 2x Libertadores holders Palmeiras.
Copa Libertadores: higher seed hosts 2nd leg.
(12) Athletico Paranaense - Estudiantes (4)
( 5 ) Atletico Mineiro - Palmeiras (1)
(13) Corinthians - Flamengo (3)
(15) Velez Sarsfield - Talleres de Cordoba (10)

Copa Sudamericana:
(14) Deportivo Tachira - Independiente del Valle (10)
( 6 ) Melgar - Internacional Porto Alegre (5)
(12) Nacional Montevideo - Goianiense (3)
( 2 ) Sao Paulo - Ceara (1)

No, we should have an „Other World Football“ thread - nothing wrong with that.

I’ll sort one, and move these posts.

Another stalwart we lost in the recent Forum issues, so,I’ve recreated it here.

South American football (always worth a watch for the skill and technique), plus the North American game, such as the MLS and the Liga-MX, plus anything from Asia, like the J-League and K-League, discussion, reports, players to watch, Cup competitions, it all goes here!

Gareth Bale scores his first for LAFC in a 2-0 win over Sporting Kansas City. Well worked between him and LA's star Colombian Arango.

The first leg of the highly anticipated Libertadores quarterfinal between defending Brasileiro Serie A champ/Copa do Brasil holders Atletico Mineiro and 2 time defending Libertadores holders Palmeiras took place at the Mineirao on Wednesday. After going down 2-0 Palmeiras fought back to claim a 2-2 draw. Here are the highlights. It also includes a certain Gustavo Scarpa.

Libertadores quarterfinal: In an ugly return leg, Palmeiras had 2 men sent off yet managed to draw 0-0 at home with Atletico Mineiro. The tie was 2-2 on aggregate and they don't play extra time in the Copa Libertadores, so it went to penalties where Palmeiras prevailed 6-5. Video below. I'll list all results after completion of tomorrow's matches.

A second-tier football club in Sierra Leone will be allowed to play in promotion play-offs despite still being under investigation for alleged match manipulation in a game which finished 91-1.

Gulf FC qualified for the Super 10 phase of the league after they defeated Koquima Lebanon 3-0 while closest challengers Kahunla Rangers lost 1-0 to Lumbebu United in replayed matches on Sunday.
The meetings between the respective clubs last month drew global headlines after Kono-based Gulf beat city rivals Koquima by a margin of 90 goals and Rangers, from Kenama, thrashed Lumbebu United 95-0.

Shouldn't this thread be in the "International Football" board?

Maybe Wayne has done a „Stuart Pearce“ with his team selection, and picked three full-backs and no goalkeeper?

I just watched Toronto FC and CF Montreal. Rick Laryea played. I hope nobody scouted that game. MLS is not good football.
