A one-year extension clause in Aina’s contract has been activated now Forest have avoided relegation. Despite that security, Forest remain keen to agree a longer-term deal with Aina making 30 Premier League starts this season and scoring two goals — including a screamer of a strike in the 3-0 win over West Ham at the City Ground last November. - The Athletic

Very happy if Aina is staying: one of my favourite players, essential for our brilliant defence, and I would have been gutted if he’d gone to another club on a free transfer:

Now off to read Athletic!

Thank you - just read the Athletic article, it’s a cracker, very good, one of the best that Paul Taylor has written.

The bit where he relates the story of Ola Aina taking the mickey of CHO’s clothes and calling him a telly tubby had me in stitches.

I would have cut and paste the article but the mods get upset due to copyright issues.
Upset? No. What you’re suggesting is actually against the law.

But we do prefer if people actually get paid for their work. It is their job, after all.

Can anyone share the link that you don't have to subscribe to please?

Yeah, archive.ph is a terrible website because it actually allows people to copy and paste article links and read them without paying, then the journo's don't get paid for their hard work.
It really is a blight on the internet.

As a compromise someone could post a link to the actual article maybe?

Then someone who knows how to activate reader mode in their browser might be able to view it anyway.

(For accessibility reasons of course).

Happy to oblige and here is the link - it’s a cracking read:

In all seriousness, I would subscribe as journalists do deserve to get paid.

I wouldn’t pay full price at £59 per year but the Athletic do regular offers and I pay £18 per year which is a bargain for the best football journalism bar none and a dedicated Forest journalist - it’s the best football writing anywhere.

Maybe I am tight as £59 a year is only £5 a month for superb writing - subscribe, it’s worth it.

The European, Premier League, and Championship writing is superb.

Just be careful when it resubscribes as I ended up paying the full whack this year and I wish i hadn't.

Athletic constantly run schemes where you get access for £1 a month

No idea how they make any money, I assume they don't & they are subsidized by the NY Times. All their writers will be on a fair wedge as they poached them from everywhere. It wouldn't surprise me if they pulled the plug randomly one day.

Yes, it’s heavily subsidised by the NYT’s - make the most of it.

Thanks for the reminder - I did check my account and it’s £18 recurring 😁 which is an amazing bargain!
I think that's for the first 6 months? I subscribed on that offer too. It's good content so for 2 euros a month I can't complain, but I think it goes up to 10€ after the 6 months which isn't worth it.

Mine doesn’t - it’s £18 for the whole year and I’ve had this offer since Feb 24.

I will have to double check, however, that they don’t flip the price back at the last minute to £59 next year!

Amazing bargain.

Does a subscription get you full access to the Athletic's American content too?
