Temitayo Olufisayo Olaoluwa Aina of NIGERIA!

For me, finishing in the CL spots is more important. That gives us the springboard to go on and challenge for more silverware in the future rather than having a one off cup now.

On that basis, wrap Aina in cotton wool and keep him well away from the city game. Wait another week or so to unleash him for our run in.

It’s not just about the risk of recurrence of the injury, it’s about how effective he will be.

Toff or Moreno playing on the right are better options than Aina, unless he has been properly pushed in training.

City without Ola and Neco is very difficult. Fortunately Neco will be available after this game.

I'd play Ola if he's anything close to fit enough.

It's also not as if winning on Sunday gets us any silverware. There's still (likely) the small matter of one of the most in-form teams in Europe in the way.

This is the one area where Nuno very definitely has a few stock phrases... if I had 50p for every time he said Forest were 'assessing' the injury situation on a 'day-by-day' basis, I would have, well, about a tenner.
But he was sticking to that line today when asked about Ola Aina.

"We are assessing players day by day and players coming back," he said in his press conference, when asked about Ola Aina specifically. "There’s still tomorrow to go. Moreno the same and players who have had issues from previous games."

Have been told elsewhere that Aina has a chance of being involved (which is something Nuno also echoed).

Don't think he'll be risked after 3 plus weeks out, straight into a semi without any match practice.

Probably be on the bench and Nuno will assess in game how the replacements are fairing.

If they get cooked and we are 2 down quickly then it's too late anyway. If it looks like the fullbacks are an issue, he might bring Aina on part of the way through the match.

If he's fit enough to get through an hour or more then he's a must risk for me as well.

The issue with this isn't actually about Aina, it's about Neco Williams. Without the both of them we have serious problems for City. We know for sure that Neco is back for Brentford and we have available cover for the other side for that game if two in a week is beyond Aina. Playing the semi final without both of them would be brutal, it's a depth issue. If it costs us Aina for the rest of the season that would hurt, but knowing we have Neco for those remaining 5 (and hopefully 6) games along with the lads to mix and match for the other side makes it a gamble that is 100% worth taking for this specific game.

I didnt see him in any of the actual training bits, but Ola is in this video, walking into the training centre with the rest of the team and seems to be walking freely without a limp or anything, but maybe thats what they want us to think? :D

Sorry Notcher - if he is fit he plays.
Best RB in the EPL this season and too good to leave out.

Why can’t we win the Cup and finish Top 5?
7 games to immortality for this squad

My reasoning is because the task of finishing top 5 because more difficult with the absence of Aina. I'd rather not risk losing him for those remaining games if there's any chance of him being available.

Yes I get that - but Forest have only won the FA cup twice in over 150 years of trying.
We can not pass this opportunity by.

Fa Cup vs CL has more ramifications.
Clearly a cup win eclipses CL qualification.
But we have had an outstanding season also due to other teams not getting it right this season.
Not qualifying for CL could see MGW and Murillo (maybe Aina) leave and whilst we’ll have the money to reinvest, I do feel safer keeping them and getting the CL money to invest further, and maintaining a realistic possibility of getting a top 8 finish.

I fear that one will leave regardless. We won’t turn our backs on £70m+.
Murillo is more expendable. MGW leaving might precipitate a total rethink/reshape.
It’s sad that football is so commercial that I’d forego the romance and glory of a cup win for 5th in the league. That’s what football has become. We’re chasing financial gain first and foremost.
