I thought they were very complimentary. Marsche was comparing the amount of chances Awoniyi gets in general to Haaland - I was only half watching the Man City game and remember at least three good chances he got supplied for him, against West Ham I only remember Awoniyi getting the one chance and lets be honest without that insane first touch it's not even a chance at goal it's just a pass to a striker.Did anyone catch the analysis of Taiwo on MNF last night? Good to see the lad getting plaudits but honestly they don't half talk some absolute garbage.
Failed manager Jesse Marsch for example essentially saying that he needs to be clinical because "A team like Faaawrest don't create that many chances".
Then proceeds to analyse his goal against West Ham doing weird movements and all to illustrate his points.
It was a good goal Jessie but it was one of 19 shots we had in the game. This season so far we are 13th for "Big chances created" overall but measuring this just under Nuno are also higher than the likes of Man U and Wolves too.

Taiwo did get a 2nd chance, when he bulleted a header just over the bar in the 2nd half.I thought they were very complimentary. Quick google search suggests Awoniyi has had 56 shots in 41 premier league games. Obviously some appearance will be as sub or whatever but again Marsche was talking about only getting a chance or two a game and comparing it to a goal keeper at Man City only having to make 1 or 2 good saves a game and being ready for them to come. I think that is a fair comparison as Awoniyi never switches off and will be happy to make the right moves for an hour or 90 minutes waiting for that opportunity or just to help the team, it's just another side to his game that I think would go unnoticed or appreciated that was rightly pointed out.
Just from the brief clip I watched he was rightly praised for an incredible first touch, fantastic ongoing conversation rate, staying switched on and that's without going into the fact he's big strong quick and very likeable.
Now I feel dirty defending pundits as they usually do my head in lol
Ah yeah fair play that does sound familiarTaiwo did get a 2nd chance, when he bulleted a header just over the bar in the 2nd half.
When he was fully fit he used to do 70 mins. He’s a big f***er isn’t he so it is t surprising he gets tired having to lug his big muscles about!!Would be nice if he could go beyond 65 minutes and look capable of running.
Love Taiwo, but a top striker needs to be able to work for more than an hour or so.
Might help if we didn't bring him back about three weeks early due to the Wood injury. Lads putting in a shift beyond his means here!Would be nice if he could go beyond 65 minutes and look capable of running.

It's not just now though, is it? He's never looked lively after the 60-70 minute mark, has he?Might help if we didn't bring him back about three weeks early due to the Wood injury. Lads putting in a shift beyond his means here!
Other big f***ers manage it.When he was fully fit he used to do 70 mins. He’s a big f***er isn’t he so it is t surprising he gets tired having to lug his big muscles about!!
Origi is a different type of striker, obviously, but he did put in a decent performance in an unfamiliar role tonight, showing quick feet and some neat skills, as he displayed when he worked that shooting chance for himself in the 2nd-half. It takes a little bit of the concern away for me should Taiwo get injured again.Tonight did give me hope that Origi might come good if called upon in Awoniyi and Wood's absence

Let's hope he comes back into full beast mode and bullies the Kids of Liverpoo into submission. When he's not fit he doesn't have the technical ability to cover it up.
At the moment he looks sluggish, and he's not rag dolling defenders like we know he can. It does seem to take him a good run of games so hopefully last night helped.
Well if he can‘t motivate himself against his former club, what‘s the point?Let's hope he comes back into full beast mode and bullies the Kids of Liverpoo into submission.
It's almost like he is a slightly better Keinan Davis...We need to go for another striker in the summer. Unpopular opinion but I've come to the conclusion that Taiwo is a secondary striker due to the fact he is injury prone and can't last 60 mins. Just to be clear, this isn't knocking his capability to be the No1 striker but we can't continue relying on him due to constant injury and fitness issues.
I kind of agree, certainly with both him and Wood missing significant time with injuries, we have very rarely had the 1-2 punch option to switch them in and out that would actually benefit both of them.We need to go for another striker in the summer.
