Summer 25 Transfer Window!!!

I don't think people are paying enough attention to the UEFA FFP system. It's all well and good talking about our loss limits and the promotion season dropping off etc. but that's completely irrelevant if we're in Europe. If we are under UEFA's rules we can only spend 70% of our income in the current (or maybe previous, not 100% sure on that) season. Frankly, with our income streams, that is not good and would massively limit pretty much anything we could do.

Fortunately, we will be getting a new sponsor next season. Qualifying for the Champions League will allow us to command a heftily good deal. Perhaps some maritime company that has its base in Piraeus?

Available revenue spend this season...say 150m x 85% = 127.5m

Available revenue spend this season...say 220m (EPL finish = 30m / CL = 30m / Sponsor = 10m) x 70% = 154m

Note* I'm not sure when PL revenue higher placed finish is paid, or when CL is paid e.g. at qualification or when the new season starts. Or, if squad cost is per season or over three season?

It probably means we'll hoover up lots of talent for the "Academy". Then sign 3-4 major signings and 2-3 squad players.

It works slightly differently to that.

The accounts are based on calendar year rather than 30th June so a proportion of the extra season ticket revenue can be included as can any income due from UEFA for European games played up to that point. Depending on how any sponsorship deal is structured, only a proportion of it is likely to be included. The income then needs to be adjusted for profit / loss on player sales over the past three years. Depends what we do in the Summer, obviously, but, without looking at every transfer over the past three years, we will be looking at extra income there.

The spend is then basically wages plus transfer amortisation plus agents fees. Amortisation was running at about £40m and we've sold a few but it will have gone up thanks to the likes of Sangare and Anderson. We will know more about wages when the accounts come up in the next couple of weeks.

Looks like Angel Gomes is going to spurs. That's a shame as think he would fit in well with us... And on a free as well.
That’s a really good signing for them.

Really solid player. Would have loved him
Here.

It’s Revenue + Transfer Profit for UEFA Rules. Villa have breached the UEFA Rules they will get a fine.
We probably would have to do some wheeling and dealing in the Summer

Arda Guler wants out of Madrid.

Maybe out of our league but if we get Champions League who knows! He’s a top top prospect.
Not just a prospect imo, he's a brilliant player. Obviously would love him here although how he'd adapt to less possession we'll likely never know. But if a deal was possible.....

Is Taribo West available? He was always a good signing

Would still like us to sign him, but I wasn't that impressed with Delap yesterday. Is he poor in the air? Two horribly mistimed headers - the attempted clearance that fell straight to Milenkovic for his goal, and the clear chance from the corner second half that he ballooned miles wide off his shoulder.

Ipswich generally look a bit demoralised to me as a group. I think they are half decent, but they just can’t get results and look done for the season along with the other relegation placed teams. Delap was poor, maybe he’s already thinking ahead too far. I too would like him here. He’s absolutely got enough about him to work with.

Man City will activate Delap's buy-back clause and will no doubt sell him for a massively inflated price.

Can't see us being in for him at the sort of money City will ask for. I think our recruitment team will look for better value elsewhere.

I perhaps wouldn't mind if he was on our side but I haven't been impressed with Delap from an antics point of view since watching him dive all over the shop at our place in the first game against them- I think he's a prick.

I think he is massively overrated

Everytime I watch him he is rubbish, I would be disappointed if we spent any decent money on him. He gets good chances regularly too.

Ipswich’s best player in every game I watch is that Cajuste - who ironically is the only player they signed from abroad. Go figure…

Id love to see us have a go and try and get Tyler Dibling from Southampton what a player he is
He is the only player I would pick up from a relegated team

He has been poor the last few months but that’ll just cool the interest a bit. Naturally so talented and wouldn’t take a squad place.

Worth shelling out for if we can avoid a bidding war IMO.

I'm the same i wouldn't pick up anyone else other than him from the 3 going down, Great talent can see he is going to the top, We can offer him the chance of regular first team football including UCL if we get it, He is in last year of his contract as well in the summer, Would be such a waste of him if he goes to a Utd,City,Chelsea as he wont get a chance like he would at Forest and we have proven we give players a chance like Murillo and Elanga CHO, He reminds me of MGW but on the right hand side

I've been wondering what type of striker we'll go for in the summer. Delap for example is a proper CF so is strand larsen who's also been mentioned but I wonder if our system would suit a different type of forward, if you take cunha for example (yes please, join the queue) or a tricky fast player (wissa, Nketia) that may be more fruitful. Imagine Cunha linking up with our front three playing the triangles and dinks behind etc I think potentially that's a better way to go. You don't really need a battering ram CF in the modern game it's about breaking the lines. We shall see...

Apparently Vlahovic is available for £25m

I would love us to go for Cuhna though, I still maintain he is the best player we have faced in 3 years since promotion & he's clearly leaving Wolves in the summer.

Vlahovic a definite step up apparently in the last year of his contract, double "swoop" for him and Luiz would be insane, there will be a very long list of admirers for Cunha
