Anyone know how Tyrese Fornah has been getting on with Cotterill-ball at Shrewsbury? I liked what I'd seen of him.

He's out for the rest of the season with a strained neck injury.

Garner and Spence if we don’t go up will categorically won’t be here next season.

Johnson is a maybe so will be interesting to see next season what we do. Can anyone explain what our 34 million operating is?

Does that mean we are over FFP?

To be fair the center mids have been in good form. Wonder if he steps in for Garner?

Garner will be a hard one to replace. Quite apart from his quality on the ball, hes able to play in a number of different ways in slightly different formations making a player like him extremely valuable to us.
I'd contrast Garner with Carvalho (or indeed a number of similar players over the last few years) who were unable to adapt their play in a broadly similar role (from deeper CM to attacking midfielder to number 10) and say that we need that flexibility in our purchases in the summer...

Our Mady Camara, formerly an extremely exciting player, for whom we rejected bids upwards of 15m, but who's played very poorly this season, has just changed agents, signing for Base Soccer, one of the largest British agencies. I just noticed that not only Cooper, but also two of your January signings, Davis and Panzo, are their clients.

So I'd be looking into their clientele for possible summer targets; they have a couple of good names...

Speaking of names, I notice among the clientele a name which is clearly an alias for a pornstar: Anfernee Dijksteel.

I don't even bother looking at who we're signing anymore coz I know we have it in hand now.

Give it 2-3 years when Murphs & co are operating without the restrictions born out of the Vrentrzos days, and we'll be flying.

3 goals for Shrewsbury in their last six games. How very Cotterill.

Assuming we don't go up we're losing Garner, Davis, Lowe, Spence & Zinc. Realistically I think only Lowe and Davis could be available, but only at a sensible price.

We'll also probably sell at least one of Johnson & Worrall, which could fund both of the above and a good quality direct replacement (+ keeping some aside for FFP).

We've already bought Layrea (Spence), Panzo (Worrall), Ojeda (Garner) & Surridge (Davis/Grabban if we/he don't renew).

We might be in a position next season where we only need to rely on 1 or 2 strong loanees, as opposed to 5 starters, and I would back Murp and the club to find some quality too. Certainly a risk element to all of the above but you can see what they're trying to do.

Something missing in the clamor for players leaving is we will have a huge pool of young players wanting to join us on loan and permanently going forward, much bigger than we had when we attracted the likes of Lowe, Spence, Garner & Zinc under Hughton.

Davis himself chose to come here over other clubs and we will be an even more attractive club to join now.

If players know they can progress their careers here then it is a massive pull.

At the risk of repeating myself, I fully expect George Syrianos and his people to be busy crunching the data in order to produce names of potential summer recruits for Messrs Murphy and Cooper to make the final decisions.

A very good point. It was difficult to attract players under Hughton (we had a few deals if I recall where we had seemingly sorted things with the selling club but it fell through because the player himself didn't want to come), whereas any player looking at how things are at Forest now will see joining us as a move that could be greatly beneficial for his career.

Nowt wrong with 4 or 5 loanees.
Promotion will always be the priority - and that policy can help deliver the promised land.

Don't disagree, but when you've got 5 who are arguably starters it's certainly a risk for the next season.

1-3 seems a bit more sensible, but as long as they get us up who cares :)

Not sure I agree on that-Spence and Garner will go. Davis and Lowe will be available so there’s a choice to make there based on cost. Zink has had a funny season-good player but blows hot and cold and I get the impression he might have a little bit if the Prima Donna about him based on a few of his reactions so I’m not sure he’s a Deri are for Watford even in the championship-in other words I think he could be bought if we wanted.

Agree with that. Nothing wrong with adding quality loan signings to the squad, but its problematic when half of your starting XI are loan signings as it pretty much guarantees that a substantial rebuilding job will need to happen in the summer. Ideally we need to get the number of loans in the starting XI down to something like 2 or 3 next season, giving us more of a foundation to build on going forwards.

We’ll definitely have a big James Garner shaped hole to fill, but from
What we’ve seen the people behind the scenes are recruiting well and I’m optimistic they’ll continue that success. I’m also really upbeat about seeing how Ojeda, Panzo and Mbe Soh come into the reckoning. And we haven’t seen what Layrea has to offer yet.

The likes of Man Utd and Arsenal etc will be throwing players at us to spend the season on loan. We'll have our pick of them don't worry about that. We've arguably had the most positive and progressive impact on loan players in the country.

Hard to disagree. Garner, Spence, Lowe, Davis have all been superb. Zinckernagel is the only one of the lot you'd draw question marks on but he's still been a good loan for us.

Can’t fall in love with loan players….I’ve fallen in love with FOUR OF THEM.

Apologies for the the scant detail as I'm not sure it's even worthy of a mention on here as yet, but anyway, a "potential" "Spanish-speaking" foreign signing and his representative(s) were evidently in attendance yesterday afternoon.

Marco Asensio saw that he’ll be competing with Surridge & Davis and decided not to bother

You'll have to excuse my ignorance Tim.

Sorry Otis. Poor attempt at humour.
Marco Asensio is a Spanish international striker
