Premier League Loan Options

Percy says Tom Ince on loan.

A few tasty moves on show here. There's a goal at about 0.55 where he just takes the mickey

My take from that video is just multiple accounts of terrible defending.

Ince would be a good signing. We're missing some pace and trickery and have been too one dimensional. I still think Hobbs is our biggest miss though, purely because teams are able to play long out of defence if they're under the kosh and if they have a striker who has an ounce of strength about him, there is more than a chance he can hold the ball up and we succumb to the counter rather than win the ball and keep up the pressure.

Lascelles in for Wilson for me.

If we were looking for a central midfielder with a bit of presence we could do a lot worse than West Brom's Youssouf Mulumbu.

A mainstay of their team for a few seasons but doesn't fit into Irvine's system. A decent age at 27.

The Albion were knocked out of the Capital One Cup last night so his game time will be very limited from now on.

According to John Percy, who was Chippers' guest on RN Matchtalk earlier, we've been trying for Robert Huth of Stoke.

Another centre half,SP must be looking at moving Mancienne into midfield or Lascelles loan deal is dodgy and Geordies may have a recall

Stuart Pearce
I can't remember where I saw it but what about the claim that Chelsea will not let us have anyone on loan because we were too slow to pay for Chalobah last season? Is the Kuwait way of paying for things that you smile and leave it for a year or so?

I see the Robert Huth link as more of an acknowledgement that SP is looking for a dominating stopper to cover the absence of Jack Hobbs.

I think Wilson struggles in that role when he comes up against big, robust centre-forwards as proven recently with Murphy of Ipswich and Gestedt of Blackburn.

He gave his best for us when he had Morgan and Hobbs attacking the ball in the air, leaving him to tidy things up in behind.

There's plenty of complete bastard midfielders about that we could pick up.

QPR had two last year that helped them get promoted. Karl Henry and Joey Barton.

I agree Otis. Both Mance and Wilson are 'sweeper' defenders who are at their best alongside an old fashioned stopper.

I think Hobbs' absence has hurt us -again.

This is not about getting more players in as we have quality but theres a reason they were playing good football last year and dross now. Sod came in for cotterill and helped him turn it around pearce needs help sacking him is not the way to go. It does seem he lacks the man management or tactical side. New players are not the answer as what we have is more than good enough.

I agree 100%. Too easy to keep trying to buy/loan our way to success, which doesn't seem to work anyway.

Hold on.

If he lacks the man management and the tactical side what does he have to offer?

It's plain to see that his tactics struggle but of Stuart f***ing Pearce can't get you motivated and put a smile on your fave then you should not be playing pro football

Bringing in Huth isn`t a bad idea, but you have to question Pearce`s tactics and his decision making, Huth may well shore up the back and bring in some much needed leadership, but our midfield is simply not good enough.

Opposing teams simply carve their way through our powderpuff midfield, and through onto goal, now its either a case of the players themselves are not good enough, which I honestly find hard to believe, or its the tactics that Pearce is getting the team to play to.

Surely something has to change, by all means I wouldn`t mind seeing Huth come in, especially if he can stop the rot at the back, but something has to give, surely Pearce can see hits tactics are not working or his style of play, will Pearce change this or continue to plod along hoping that we can win a game or two...personally I cant see Pearce being the man we all hope he is, bringing in more players and hoping, is not going to change the way we play or his tactics.

Yeah, it's not our defenders that are the problem, it's how the team as a whole are playing.
