Left leaning?
I thought the Tories were the “nasty”, sinister party.

Morning guys and gals. Been a lurker for ages but niw joining in proper. 30 year reds supporter frok Mansfield, living in exile in Leicester.

Can anyone tell me why there is so much negativity?? I watched the game last night and it was disappointing to give the goal away late on, I saw a lot to be happy about. Despite being a friendly, we matched a Seria A side, bettering them at times.

Happy to join the debate gents, lets be more positive about a brill new season! We support a fantastic club and we as fans are so important, lets give it some tea time next Saturday!!!
I don’t think there is much negativity. Maybe a overreaction after the Olympiacos game but that’s about it. I don’t think pointing out where this squad is clearly lacking can be classed as negative. Or not having blind faith everything will come good because we have a foreign manager and made some foreign signings. It may come good or it may turn out to be a disaster. At the minute it looks like a mid table squad. Which isn't acceptable.

Or won’t be acceptable I should say.

As another long-time exiled lurker on here, what often appears at first to me to be negativity is, on a second reading, better interpreted as realism with a side order of 20 years' worth of frustration with the way the club's been run. I think Forest fans could be forgiven for being a lot more negative.

You need to go more Right-Wing Captain.

If you were to feature articles on organisation, marching, proper uniforms, large torchlit rallies and the films of Leni Reifenstahl, I’d be interested?

Gonna say I think Semedo is largely at fault for both goals. Loses his man both times who then goes on to score. I can see why he’s so annoyed after the second.

Bit of a lack of effort for the first one, second one ball watching a little bit but that is exactly why we need a proper DM who will take responsibility and always be in that position in front of the CBs.

Brilliant summary Captain, better than the Post’s.
Have you thought of starting your own newspaper? I’d look forward to my copy of the “Daily Sinister”.

I echo RB's comments. Excellent description of how you saw events.

In fact I come here first to read match reports before watching highlights. Yours and other posters like Ravi and Dizzybala's match summaries give me a far more informed appraisal of the match than an edited highlights package.

Would you have page 3 stunnas in it? If so I'm a possible.

Page 3 stunnas are obligatory in any decent daily.
I have my camera, a collection of lenses and a spare room I use as my photographic studio.
Just wanting volunteers for some tasteful shots.
No one tell Mrs S what i am up to though!

Oh, and thanks for the supportive comments.
I know I made a couple of errors in my match summary... but as soon as I had seen the highlights I did issue a correction post.
Nothing but the truth in the Daily sinister!

Think we can safely say Stoke just lost their captain for the season. Shawcross has just broken his leg badly in a friendly, one of the worst I've seen.

I‘m sorry but he’s an absolute thug; pub-team footballer without as much talent as a geriatric labradoodle.

A pretty decent performance, especially first half. Muric will have moments like that one in the first but on the flipside, he claims so many balls that Pants wouldn't. Distribution very good, almost too positive in the second half when he could have done with slowing the game down a bit.

Defensively we did okay, although the two CB's did look a little slow as a pair, could be a problem with us playing a higher line. Great finish from Worrall. Impressed with both FB's, they got up and down the pitch well and Cash won so many headers.

Watson looked a bit suspect when they stepped it up and got caught out a few times. Tiago was bright again, I didn't expect a top half La Liga side to come and kick our playmaker off the park but he was obviously targetted. Semedo was very promising, looks to have all the tools, the question will be can he put it together in such a relentless league but it's been a while since we had a midfielder with those attributes.

The front three had their moments, Lolley's obviously leaving it 'til next week to put his shooting boots on but he delivered a few nice balls and linked well with Cash on the overlap. Adomah pops up in some dangerous positions, you can see why he's got goals in the past. Although, I thought he should have shot when put through in the 2nd half instead of going around the 'keeper and crossing. Grabban took his goal well and linked up nicely at times, however a yard more pace and he'd have given them real problems.
