Surely no-one is seriously reading anything in to this result?? Unless a team (well both teams since we played almost everyone available) is absolutely played off the park by lower league opposition the week before the season starts then there's the square root of zip/nada/nothing to be read into a friendly performance as to how it represents your prospects for the season ahead.... its about practice/fitness and the very beginning of learning how to knit a team of strangers together into a cohesive unit that is more than the sum of its parts as they learn more about the system the gaffer wants to play...
Lest we forget we won 3 and drew 1 of our pre-season friendlies last season - by the same measure we were looking alright were we before we embarked upon the worst start to a season in our history? Do please get a grip gentlemen.

I don't thing many are getting stressed about this leg-stretching exercise in the Spanish sun, but I do think that there are different types of friendlies. These ones are clearly just designed to give the teams slightly higher intensity work than drills and mean absolutely nothing but friendlies closer to the season opener, against other UK teams mean more IMO. Or put another way if the team comes into the season having put away 3 consecutive domestic opposition sides who are operating at close to their competitive level it boosts confidence and often helps....

Worst thing was charging fans a fiver to watch (use that term lightly) what was essentially a training session. Probably made a grand out of that and lost more than that in fan good will.

Wait people are surprised our non first 14-15 players are dogshit? They were crap in the Championship, what do they expect now lol?
Cooper rarely rotates his team and thankfully this season we will only have 1 game a week. Not to mention the winter break will hopefully mean we don't see the fringe players.

Yeah, Forest are good at that.
For all the increased professionalism on the playing side of things, the commercial activities of the club still seem completely amateurish.

I keep expecting them to make it a focus area, given that they’ve fixed the priority problems…but they still seem oblivious.
And they cannot say they don’t know, because enough people, including me, have complained about things often enough. Hell, I even wrote to them, but you get a boilerplate reply, and nothing ever changes.

I was out yesterday so couldn’t watch match but quality and standard of Forest tv sounded poor. I’m not a tech guy but they must know when filming it that it will be of poor standard due the tech or cameras they are using. Then to know this and charge a £5 for basically a training kick around is really poor. Should b £5 package which includes all the friendlies or bulk it out and add some player interviews, training footage, goals from last season etc. it’s all very amateurish.

Doesn't sound like too many surprises with the second half team. They broke down along lines you'd roughly expect:
Not really good enough (Silva, Cafu, Smith, da Costa)
Young and not ready (Back, Hammond, Donnelly)
Probably need a load (Mbe Soh, Panzo)
Been around the 1st team (Mighten, Ojeda)
Arguably those last two categories could be joined together, but it's Mighten and Ojeda that have done themselves some favours and the other two haven't - perhaps a twist of fate has already provided us with upgrades on the centre backs. Not a huge surprise that the team didn't really compete but, as others have said, it's primarily about fitness and I'd be amazed if the real youngsters are anywhere near the 1st team next year: a 'drawback' of promotion.

Quite a few times I remember having a really good set of pre-season results, and then having a shit season and then having a really bad pre-season results and going on to have a good season. Means nothing at all.
The example that’s always stuck in my mind is Newcastle losing their friendly at Leyton Orient 6-1 (which caused some hysteria), before going on to win the Championship fairly convincingly the first time they came down.

so I’ve had a quick look regarding the issues watching Forest TV, if yer tele has these metal sticky type thingys try and move em wider apart ( I’ve put basic instructions on to show anyone who’s unsure) if that doesn’t work nip round to Rocka’s he’s always got the tele on and if yer play yer cards right he might sort you a rum and coke.

Charging a fiver for a meaningless preseason friendly is frankly, gouging the fans.
Later today I shall watch the second preseaso friendly of my local side for free, because they make a point to stream all preseason games for nothing.
