Pre season friendly #1: Coventry City

Back line all at sea every time Coventry play through the line or over the top. Loans needed for those lads

Looked another keeper error to me, seemed to go right under Smith into the middle of the net. Think he took it early and caught Smith off guard.

Wouldn’t worry too much. At this stage it’s almost as important to have some ‘bad tape’ for our analysts and coaches to go over with the players.

Think people underestimate how physically/mentally demanding 90 minutes of football is at a decent level, even in a friendly where the tempo is far more tame it's still more tiring than you'd expect. At this stage of pre season players won't be fully match fit so leaving tired players out on a football pitch is asking for injuries. The only friendly you might see the 'proper squad' over a full 90 mins will probably be the final friendly before the season starts

Not to mention we have some players in the camp that are having their futures assessed, getting them involved in a few risk free friendlies gives the club a fair look at them and Cooper will give the nod to any decisions regarding sales/loans/keep etc

Hit the post.

This is why you don't read into pre-season too much. It's been all Forest for the majority of the game and we miss a sitter and hit the post, they score 3 from long balls on the counter. Good finishing from Walker, which is his strength.

True but they all looked wrecked after 25 mins! Admittedly so did Cov and it’s blazing hot there.

Pre season game typical not stretching ourselves etc, need to gel etc, If anything we have had good pre seasons and done badly in the league.

Absolutely no disrespect to Coventry playing well.

Not worth looking at twitter ATM or anytime for that matter.
