• All - you probably don't need to be told, but....
Despite the Admins' best efforts some spammers/scammers/scalpers are getting through the entry system and are, astonishingly, in possession of FA Cup tickets that they, astonishingly, don't want!

It's probably a scam, and either way it's a criminal offence under section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, (as amended by the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006) to offer or expose tickets for sale.

Please DO NOT engage with these people - please REPORT any threads/posts offering tickets for sale in case we've not caught them.
    Thanks!

What do you mean that 'we are better than that'? Its been sung by Forest for about 40 years!
I remember a game at the Sheep Dip when Forest fans sang a ditty about the Philpotts, which was aimed at all Derby fans. Forest immediately condemned it, and Johnny Owen subsequently tweeted "stay classy Forest". Derby then condemned a song they had about Nigel Doughty. Both clubs said "stop it', and it stopped.

Hate songs, chants and songs about women, songs about people with a different coloured skin, the song that was aimed at Brighton for it's gay culture and something similar aimed at Chelsea, it's more or less died out.

Mocking someone who has suffered, or who is different, lumping everyone from Nottm together as a scab, is both daft and offensive, so I think that Forest are better than that.

The Bruno Fernandez being a rat was more embarrassing than the sign on chants... Everton sang we hate Nottingham Forest which to me I will always associate it and remind me of Liverpool singing it at us after we'd got involved in their grief at Old Trafford.... like donating to the RSPB and then a bird shitting on your head.

I actually agree with that. I'd like Liverpool to stop their song as well, and the argument that they've been singing it since we knocked them out of the European Cup, the Scousebusters, is irrelevant.

Aren't most football chants aimed at specific clubs offensive in some way? I see it as part of the culture of the sport and the fans.

If you don't like offensive chanting maybe football isn't for you and rugby would be a better sport to watch.

What's offensive about being full of fun?

Is there a list somewhere of who gets to do the next match thread? I wouldn't mind doing one either spurs or next season if there's a long list

Anyone is free to jump in and do the next matchday thread after a loss as far as I'm aware
This!
Fill your boots and guide us all the way to Europe please!

Don't forget to add a poll (or shout for help if..)🙂

Yeah , that chant was sung at the same time as red and white tape was strung across the Stretford End between the 2 sets of fans. Totally blew the we are in this together myth that we’d been subjected to for the weeks leading up to the match.

I thought Everton fans were better than that

Thats quite a strawman argument you have created there.

Forest have been singing the song you think we are "better than" for 40 years. Maybe, by your criteria, we are not better than that at all.

Maybe controversial but I dont think the crowd helped us much on Saturday. Over the last two years when we were fighting for every point the noise in the second half would have been deafening, but apart from a couple of 'come on you reds' and a forest are magic which last about five seconds, didn't feel the energy to get the team going. Maybe the stakes are too high and everybody is nervous

Maybe energy flows 2 ways.
The lack of energy on the pitch drained energy from the crowd.
MOK was deafening again, as was Que Sera Sra, and for 10 minutes or so the crowd was loud.
However, right from the start the players looked drained, the ref failed to address properly the Everton violent conduct, and the volume dropped away.
It takes 2 to tango, as my matriarchal old Granny used to always tell me.

It's all about opinions and I reckon we are getting better. Not quite there yet.

A very disappointing result and performance on Saturday. In my view Everton did a good job on us and Forest did not have an answer. It's disappointing, but it's football.

A few people on here are obviously rattled by it, but we'll be alright. Forest are getting better and whatever happens in the next few weeks, will be even better next season, on and off the pitch.

Keep calm and keep civil. U Reds.

It's definitely this isn't it, or a cycle. It's difficult for the crowd to get going when they see the players are nervous (and when the situation suggests nerves), and of course the same the other way.

I only saw it on TV but it's why I was so impressed when we beat Arsenal in that first season back - the crowd noise even through the telly was deafening for the last 10-15 minutes, and I remember thinking (a) how are the crowd not shitting it as much as I am at home and (b) this is incredible for the players, you could see the confidence and belief it gave them. Was so proud watching that.

Rewatched this over the weekend as I'm a sucker for punishment. As usual we gave them all the ball in their own half. What was unusual for us was the amount of space they had in the middle pretty much up to the edge of our box. We usually shut up shop before then and get a lot tighter.

We had Dom and Anderson in defensive midfield, both covering the relevant full backs if needed. CHO and Jota also defending their sides when required.

I'm not sure if intentional but Jota kept coming infield to the middle #10 position where MGW already was. This seemed to unbalance the system a lot. Dom had to hang out wide right more as Jota wasn't around to cover anything that side. That left Anderson to cover a massive left and centre area in front on the defensive line.

Our whole system depends on players sticking to their job. As I say maybe it was intentional but it really did look like Jota's self imposed roaming role threw a spanner in the usually well oiled machine.

That is the system we've been playing recently (Villa apart). Jota just took the Elanga free roll up front with Dom covering right side.

It is about opinions I agree. Personally if I was a woman and I was surrounded by loud opposition fans in the Forest seats - as you find perfectly acceptable and funny on the other thread when it was Huddersfield fans - I'd be more concerned with that than a song being sung thats been sung for 40 years.

We got suckered into a scrap of a game last season, with it looking like the preverbial schoolboy football at times with all the players being in tight clumps in the middle, kicking anything that moved rather than putting a foot on the ball and looking for space. Hopefully we can rise above that on Saturday and stick to our gmeplan rather than theirs. Tight game, but we get the 3 points.
So other than the last few words, that was all pretty predictable.

We got dragged down into their gameplan, we ended up so slow and ponderous in possession, we got so caught up in having no time on the ball that even when someone was in space they had got so used to just instanly flicking the ball on we weren't looking to bring the ball down and play. You have to be brave physically but also brave in possession when you play Everton. At no point did it look like we actually knew what we were trying to do with the ball or creae any sense of danger.

Not all women are the same, especially if they were born and raised in Radford.

What I found funny on the other thread was the reaction of the Huddersfield fans. if any of them had looked intimidated, or had been intimidated, I'm hopeful that the stewards and the police would have intervened.

What I find intimidating is not some pissed up person waving their arms about and trying to do a silly kung-fu dance, I find that pathetic actually. Calling people names and mocking them is intimidating, and that is my point.

Didn’t think I’d see anything as embarrassing as the performance yesterday but reading some of the posts from some on here might actually have topped it.

First sign of trouble and you’re throwing the towel in and players under the bus. Pathetic.

Our strength has been in our unity, across team and fans. The players are clearly gassed but we need to get them over the line. If after the season we have had people start turning on them we don’t deserve anything
Well said mate, and it has to be said I think, the fans on Saturday were definitely not up for it.

I was sat in Block T so had the Everton fans right next to me, and they were mega. Some of the best away support I'd seen this year. Maybe we were intimidated, but it was nowhere near the City Ground best.

Sure the football wasn't inspiring, but it's no excuse.

Maybe it was due to how it feels like we've barely had a 3pm kick off this season. So us singing fans didn't know the correct time to go out and get the right amount of drunk to be singy.

I wasn't much in a singing mood and I went TBI at 11:30. The football was just so dull there was nothing to get us going.
