On Saturday we handled the midfield battle with just Yates on his own for the second half, I’m sure we will be fine with Danilo and Sangare if everyone’s switched on.
Apologies, I read it in a different way.I just mean it feels experimental. I can't imagine we've fielded such an attacking-minded side before. But folk who wanted Cooper out did want us to play more on the front foot, so perhaps we'll get to see if we have the quality to take it to them. Will be an interesting few hours.

He's managing the squad in a tough, short period of games, and particularly after having to expend so much more energy due to the circumstances on Saturday. Some minor knocks could have been picked-up too.Don't like the lineup. Dropped the form player and the player of the year, not addressed the obvious weakness in the middle of the defence.
And it's much easier to handle that battle if you are 15 yards further up the pitch and when you get in possession you have multiple options to retain it.On Saturday we handled the midfield battle with just Yates on his own for the second half, I’m sure we will be fine with Danilo and Sangare if everyone’s switched on.
I can't remember where I saw the stats... a mate sent me a link which I have since deleted.Where do you find these stats on Niakhate captain?
I feel nervous about him too, like a mistake is never far away. I think he’d be a good CB for a team that attacks a lot and defending is less frequent.
But for a team which sits back a lot and is expected to soak up a lot of pressure I don’t think the concentration or composure is there from him.
Felipe is injured again I think, or at least he was when he dropped out the squad for Spurs (I think).I can't remember where I saw the stats... a mate sent me a link which I have since deleted.
I see he is preferred to Felipe today.
I think he will start off with a flat back 4, then a 3, then MGW behind a 2 of Wood and CHO.A very attacking formation by Nuno; I doubt a midfield of Sangaré and Danilo is sufficient and tactically disciplined enough, for such an opponent.
If this works, it could be huge.Apologies, I read it in a different way.
I guess Nuno has a bit of a free hit for the next couple of games and I'd imagine if we can get to a point of Sangare looking like the player he could be and being able to sacrifice a CM to play on the front foot and get MGW into that three (rather than three and MGW Infront) then that makes us a much more progressive proposition
It is harsh but he was skinned for pace a couple of times last game.Toff not even on the bench is overly harsh.
Elanga is playing too. I assume MGW will be the more advanced of a midfield three, or if we're really doing for it ahead of Sangare with Dani on a 4123.I think he will start off with a flat back 4, then a 3, then MGW behind a 2 of Wood and CHO.
And i think he will change it pretty quickly as we will be over-run.
Same, agree it's a good line up. Hopefully we see a better sangare especially in his preferred role as a defensivemidfeilderI’m very happy with that lineup. For the only fact every player is playing in their proper position. 4-2-3-1 is the best formation for our team. Especially if we want the best out of wood and MGW. I’ve obviously got no problem with dropping Yates. We lose with him and we lose without him. I don’t think the future is Yates cause he is extremely limited as a footballer. Obviously it won’t look good today if sangare and Danilo don’t work hard. However working hard is the abolishes minimum we should expect from players. It’s a shame we have to play Yates just to show others how to work hard.
I think even if it doesn't work today, it shows that we want to get to that point. If this works, it could be huge.

I do like MGW and CHO together, given their u21 history.I have no idea how well we will click with so little time on the training ground with Nuno.
But this side makes me feel much more confident as it has the potential to go out and win games and feels like us wanting to go and stamp some authority rather than us setting up hoping not to lose by nicking something on a long ball up top. It puts our highest quality players on the pitch, in their proper positions.
It could all go tits up today with little preparation, but I'd imagine this is just a first look at the kind of set ups we will expect to see later in January.
