No way hahahaha. I love tagliafico, I always sign him on FM & FIFA.

He doesn’t fit the “profile” but he has bags of experience and ability. He probably won’t cost loads either, could be our Cambiasso.

Was thinking the same regarding the profile but I think you make an exception for a player like him, Argentina starting LB for about 5 years including winning the Copa America and a Champions League semi-finalist with Ajax too.

We made the exception for Cook when a good deal was there to be done. Same for this guy I imagine, and 29 is still not ancient! We have become spoilt :ROFLMAO:

Would like to see it from a better source though. Seems a bit too good to be true. He is like a really really good version of Ribeiro.

But we do need a LWB and haven’t been linked with anyone yet.

If we sign this lad, plus the two chaps from the Bundesliga, I’m going to start believing in the Tooth Fairy and Santa again.

If he's looking to leave Ajax, there's no harm in us throwing our hat into the ring.

You have to imagine there will be more established clubs than ourselves involved though.

Tagliafico was outstanding in their campaign to the Champions League semi final a couple years ago. Wonder why he's moving on?

First left sided player I’ve seen us linked with I think. Certainly should be an area we need to target bolstering. Let’s see.

Honestly Strummer its bloody crackers but at the same time its delightful, if we signed all of the players we have been linked to the past fortnight you'd think we were up to challenge for the top 4!

This time last year we were kind of hoping to get someone slightly better than Bong, or debating whether Iannou should be given a chance, no disrespect to them but Jesus this guy gets into most Premier league teams, if we get anywhere near signing him I think I will pass out!

The other Argentinian defender (Lisandro Martínez) at Ajax is a great player too, centre back on paper but one of the most versatile defenders i've seen he pops up all over the place and his balls over the top are a thing of beauty. Think he's close to joining United

Age isn't the real issue.
In the excellent Steve Hodge interview on YouTube, he spells out why the game is increasingly a younger man's game.
At 27 and more, these players are already multi-millionaires many times over.
The ability to get them motivated to give their all by the manager/coach is more critical.
Youbger players looking to make their name (and their fortune) in the game are far more amenable to giving everything, listening and taking on board what their coaches/manager is telling them.
How many aging, failing pros did we get in the Championship?
Loads... and nearly all were less than committed to getting the team to succeed.
Not every pro over 27 will be giving less than their all, but many do satisfice rather than maximise.

Pardon my French, but, he is f***ing ridiculously good on FM..

Not afraid to put a few tackles in either.

Jesus!!! The guy is ridiculously good, way beyond anything I'd expect us to sign. I'll temper my excitement for now because it seems a stretch, however, if we did sign him it shows the intent EM has for us.

Good enough that if no better established club is in for him, especially at the rates being mentioned, it'd be a red flag.
