Would you start him in the final?

I may be a Villa fan, but i say this without any bias....

I have seen nearly all your games since Davis joined, and although i know Davis isnt ever the biggest goal threat when he plays (although tbf he has scored a few with you), regardless of this, when he does play he has looked an absolute menace, when he plays he opens space and time up for others, imo, for what its worth, i do think you look a better "team" when Davis plays.

Surridge has been brilliant.

But when Samba was ready to come back in for Horvarth it had to be done because he is the better player. For me the same applies here. He STARTS.

As I presume he will be 100% he has to start, I think he at least stopped Sheffield United's momemtum somewhat when he came on and certain defeat.

I’m 55:45 in agreement. The only thing being that Surridge has been great since he’s started. Maybe they both play and PZ makes way? This is why I’m not a football manager.

I'd start him aswell. Think Surridge plays the role of super sub better, after KD has run the defence ragged for 65-70 minutes.

Have faith in Cooper whatever he decides though.

Has to start.

Primarily because he's a brilliant player, but also because we're struggling to win a midfield battle currently & Davis can carry the team forward on his own at times.

I like Surridge, but he cant effect things like Davis when things aint firing behind him.

I would employ a deliberate strategy of starting Surridge the Substituting Davis at HT.
This would give the opposition something different to contend with either half.

I would tell the players what you are planning meaning Surridge can use all his energy in 45 minutes,Davis likewise.

Lets not forget that Surridge set up 2 of our goals over both legs.

Saying that, I think this is one for Keinan to start. Huddersfield will be more physical and his strength will be key. What we missed last night was someone to hold the ball up top and bring others in.

Surridge has done very well as an impact sub too.

Tight call.

I f***ing love Davis. I think he is super special, I really do. I know they were tiring, but he did great work AGAIN last night. He can make things happen for us. I appreciate it's a little hard on Sam, but I would like to see KD starting at Wembley.

Nice to have the choice, isn't it?

I've seen Forest teams where you wouldn't actually want any of the strikers to start lol. Derbyshire, Miller, I loved him first time but the returning Harewood, Daddi, American guy who's name I forget etc.

For me Davis starts, got twelve days so I imagine if he could play 45 minutes yesterday he'll be fine for the match by then.

Edit - how could I name bad strikers and forget Dobie and Harris? *shudders*

Thought his introduction enabled us to wrestle some initiative back on Tuesday. He’ll be fit for final now so great choices for Cooper. Huddersfield play 3 at back with wing backs I think-Surridge can make those positive runs down flanks to stretch their centre half’s. Then bring Davies on last 30. But trust in Cooper to get it right!!

The tide was definitely against Forest in that 2nd leg. Forest were creating nothing and surely Sheffield would have got that 3rd goal with no pressure release valve.

Davis single handedly turned that momentum somewhat with sheer brute force and trickery, it was like a man playing in a school boy's match and it's significance cannot be understated along with Brice's heroics of course.

Aston Villa should be the first phone call we make after the final whatever the result.
