Funnily enough, I believe it’s Dave Gahan‘s birthday today, too.

I thought mostly he was a little squawk who didn't really know much. At least Max (who isn't ITK) sticks to interviews and fan content which he's very good at.

This lad's track record isn't great, but let's hope he's right. Even if he's only fit enough for the bench, KD9 being there would be a big boost.

Don’t want to see further posts on this thread unless it’s footage of Keinan doing a lorry pull or back-flipping the length of the City Ground pitch.

He said the midfielder we were liked with from Holland was having a medical at the CG in the summer. Daniel Taylor said he was never even in the country. The guys a fraud.

Speaking of Daniel Taylor, he managed to piss all over his own chips since those articles and outbursts.

I've seen very little of him relating to Forest since our rise and notably no access to Cooper etc.

Couldn't stand the bloke personally so hopefully that teaches him a valuable lesson.

He's a proper journalist and still writes decent articles about us now. Only via the Athletic.

If you want spoon-fed club led propaganda then stick to the Post.

Taylor gets stick for calling out Forest when we deserve it, called out Fawaz before anyone else, called out EM and Vrentroz and now one has nothing to do with the club and we are much much better off.

People just like to hear only the positive about their club and that's fine, but you need the people playing devils advocate otherwise you get into a Derby like situation.

I knew it would be unpopular to some. I want both sides of the story as much as the next person. It was the way he went about the whole thing. Spouting off like some spoilt child whilst obviously having a personal vendetta with people. It was completely unprofessional.

I agree Notcher. Football journos are a funny lot. In Taylors case hes clearly a good writer and has been responsible for some some important stuff but I think he doesn't try hard enough to separate his professional persona from his fan status. And that's a shame because when he says stuff it carries weight

Totally agree in that he can be an excellent writer, I can separate my dislike for him and credit some of his work. That period where he went off really wasn't a good look for him and there were other ways he could have gone about sending the same message. As you say, there was no separation between the professional and his emotional connection. Whilst I empathise with the emotional attachment he ended up looking vindictive and childish.

The only way a journo can get proper stories is direct from the source.

However if you do this you cannot afford to offend the source, it's sort of chicken and egg.

So even if you get good stuff, it's still stuff which is fully vetted.

I guess some is leaked, but most is fed which means that you're going to have uneven success; some is bound to be crap.

Just a thought, that Atlantic must either be existing on loans or fresh air or it's a raging success, because I note that they have a vast number of journalists, many covering football, even one covering Norwich City!

I think the Athletic is big in America so most of the profits from that are probably put into the UK version if that doesn't make any money. If you look at the footer, they will have dedicated sections to every state in America & Canada which are all basically the same size as all their football coverage. They really do produce a huge amount of stuff that is hidden from most the UK readers.

I assume the UK branch doesn't make money? - they would have to have a huge subscription base. The journalists they have won't be on peanuts either as they were all poached from other papers. I know that 1 in 3 people that subscribe to something don't bother to cancel it so I would imagine they have a lot of redundant subscriptions.
