I don’t agree.
Why should people who stumped up £500/600 for a season card be shoved out for someone
who has paid £15/20 for a cup game?

The season card people pay less-per-game than those who have a membership and get to every game.

I'm a ST holder who didn't bother with Blackpool or Bristol City games. I'm not particularly bothered about the Man Utd fixture so I won't be going anyway but I wouldn't have been against a member who bought tickets for both Blackpool and Bristol City getting priority over me for the Man Utd fixture.

Fair enough-but part of the terms of buying a season card is that you get priority for Cup games.
Would you be happy if someone who hadn’t got a season card grabbed your ticket if we
(lol) reached Wembley?
By the way,I went to the Blackpool game but not against Bristol City.

Because they are only paying for a guaranteed seat for league fixtures and what I suggested included those people who are season ticket holders but went to Bristol or Blackpool. But, if you are a season ticket holder and you didn't go to those games, why would you still get preference when we play a fixture that is more attractive for them to go.

See my post above (season card holders get priority as a condition of buying one).
I think many season card holders are happy to give up their seat for cup games anyway.
I think this may be a pointless debate as I think the Manchester United game may reach
general sale because of the high prices and it is on TV (not to mention that many fans are probably broke after Christmas and feel let down by the manner the club is being run at present).

If they had attended every cup game and I had attended none then yeah absolutely they deserve to go to Wembley.

At least if we reached Wembley, I could take being fleeced by them. Everything at Wembley is expensive, surprised they don't charge you to use the toilets. When it's your own club putting the boot to you, it hits a little different.

That’s actually incorrect. Season ticket holders pay for: an actual seat at league games; a guaranteed seat at cup games if they choose to buy it; and a few other minor things. They are the terms, stated in advance.

You should only have an expectation for what you want if it was also stated in advance that buying a ticket for an earlier round gave priority for later rounds.

FWIW I think that stumping up £hundreds for a season ticket should get you some priority. And I’m sorry but it would be naive to think that Blackpool in R3 wouldn’t be far less popular than Manchester United in R5, when there will be less tickets available anyway as United will always take their full allocation.

I do however think that members who went to earlier rounds should get some sort of priority, even if it’s “only” over other members. That can start getting complicated as there have been 3 FA Cup games plus the League Cup, so there would need to be a few tiers, but it’s not impossible. Non-members that went could then similarly get priority at the general sale stage.

Maybe the FAB will influence a change to the rules for the future, or the club will change things anyway. That is for the club to decide, but they need to communicate it in advance of next year’s season ticket sales.

One piece of puzzlement for me is why has it taken a week to come up with the decision for this game; why do season ticket holders have to wait 2 days for Lower Bridgford to select and buy their relocated seats before they can get theirs; and why do they then have a 5-day window to do so, all of which is time that could have been used to reward loyalty as above?

Think it should also be noted that plenty of other people would also stump up for this privilege if they could, but are currently locked out. Same with the higher tiers of membership.

A few people on Twitter complaining about tickets being a 'closed shop'. Important to clarify how Home Membership actually works.

I don't know for sure, but I think Home Memberships were probably introduced around 10 to 15 years ago and were £30 a season. All it did was allow you a small priority window for home games before going on general sale. I purchased a home membership straight away, and tbh the only time it really came into its value was for Derby at home. It was also useful for the odd away game. Home Memberships stayed at the same price of around £30 to £40 for years, and I would estimate that there were 1000 Home Member fans.

In the Steve Cooper promotion season, the Home Membership really started to come into its value, as most home games were selling out fast, so it was good to have a priority window. When Forest were promoted, the club split Home Membership into 3 categories - Gold, Silver and Bronze. The club offered existing Home Members the option to buy Gold Membership before anyone else could, which was a good way to reward loyalty.

In the summer of 2023, the club rehashed the membership system into Pro, Plus and My Forest. They gave Gold and Silver members the option to buy Pro Membership, which was a little controversial as it diluted those 1000 or so home members who had historic membership. Pro Membership does always guarantee you a ticket to a home league game if you want one and you're prepared to pay £95 a season for that privilege.

If we stay in the Premier League, the tiers are likely to stay the same but the price will obviously increase. Wouldn't be surprised if Pro Membership goes beyond £100. An awful lot of My Forest Members and General Sale fans complain about not enough tickets being sold, but you have to understand that the Pro Membership has been based to some extent on historic loyalty. This is why there's been a bit of backlash from Pro members being merged with the so called 'Plebs'!!

With the high ticket price and the game being on TV, I think anyone who wants to go to Man U will have the opportunity to go. Also, if we're hit with a points deduction, which causes relegation, the whole debate about access to home games will go out the window!!

Apologies for the long one on this, but I think it's important to explain how the Home Memberships has developed, as I see an awful lot of people on social media complaining that they can never get a ticket to a home game. Remember, approx 27,000 tickets go on sale for each home game, and there's already 20,000 season ticket holders, unless there's a capacity increase, people who haven't had historic membership are going to struggle for tickets.

Why does this club seem to get everything wrong on the commercial side?

It's as if they haven't got a clue on how a club should operate.

Because for every decision they make there are 'winners' and 'losers' and it's usually the 'losers' in each situation that we hear about. It literally is a no-win situation (for all) because demand continues to outstrip supply.

I've got the MyForestPro membership and whereas for league games the entry for tickets is tiered and I can usually get one, for this game it looks like it's open next Tuesday with all other membership categories.

Fair enough I suppose on count that there are plenty of other times where folk on lower membership tiers don;t get a sniff.

FWIW i’m a Plus member and can usually get tickets if i’m on the ball.

My other half is a regular member and has managed to get tickets two or three times this season. Never two seats together of course.

I also appreciate it’s difficult for people with jobs less flexible than mine (you know, a proper job 😉) to always be online at exactly the right time on Friday mornings.

Cup tickets we’ve never had any problems, except for the League cup semifinal.

You've just reminded me that I did have one of those £30 memberships many seasons ago along with my son and his Robin's Reds membership - it gave us early access to ticket sales so we could pretty much sit where we wanted.

It was precisely this reason that we never bothered getting a season ticket - tickets were always available in every stand.

Have had silver/pro membership this last couple of years and never had any problems getting seats together.

My only complaint is the price of the tickets.

I've had a Plus membership this year and have got tickets for every home match I've applied to get tickets for. Have I also been on a tour of the different seats in Upper TE, absolutely 🤣

The main turn off is the price of the tickets for some of the matches. It seems everything is a Cat A match bar cup matches against lower league oppo.

Pretty much the same as me, only I’ll swap BC block G for your TE.
I’ve paid from £33(Bournemouth) to £48(Liverpool) for League games and £10-£17 for cup games so far.
Finding the pricing the this game very odd, especially as away fans are paying £25 max!
I know it will be £35 for most of us but I fail to see how the club can justify charging up to £50 for general sale !

Because they don’t care, as they know people will pay it.

I think cup gates are split 50/50 between the two clubs aren't they? Or 40/40/10 with the 10% going to the FA? On the basis that the ticket prices have to be agreed between the two clubs beforehand, I hope that Man Utd have opted to take a smaller share of the gate money given that their fans are getting relatively cheap tickets compared to many of ours.

I say that as a season card holder in BC lower S block who's paying 45 quid for this game and who doesn't particularly like these boys.

It's absolutely shocking (I'm here as well right at the back of the cut off). Even I'm unlikely to get in
