I wouldn't call it an unintended consequence.

I'd be pretty sure that the bloke in charge of ticketing DIDN'T walk in one morning, bash out that email and send it out to a bulk recipient list.

I'd be confident in saying that it will surely have been reviewed by someone else in the club hierarchy, and approved.

Consequently, the only thing that can be concluded is that this message, this tone, this confrontational style IS the style that Forest WANT to push, the attitude they want to convey.

Not an unintended consequence - this would appear to be a deliberately engineered approach.

It's the "we don't give a shit, f*** you" approach.

And it only works while you have the temporary (and fragile) position we currently occupy - demand equals or exceeds supply.

You're buggered when the tables turn.

There are many MANY ways to rephrase that kind of email (and all the emails and for example social media posts weaponising e.g. the ticketing system and waiting list etc) to convey the same message but with a wholly different tone which would go a long way to keeping people on-side.

Instant case in point - the press release re Container Corner:
View attachment 44098

As written, the home crowd is there as the entertainment..the cabaret, if you will..for the corporate corner people. "Put your prawn sandwiches down for a minute and listen to the silly people sing their song."
One word changed - "from" to "with" conveys the same message, but brings the corporate into the crowd - we're all doing this together.

I guess it all depends on what message you want to convey.
To be clear the intended consequence is to penalise supporters who buy away tickets purely to protect their priority status. It is difficult to argue against this.

The unintended consequence is to penalise those who:

1. Attend the game but are let down by the failure of the home club to record their attendance.
2. cannot attend for good reason at short notice e.g. health issues especially the disabled/chronically ill.

I support your view that these decisions are made at very senior level without understanding the full consequences.

Every PL Club has to have suitable policies and standards regarding supporter engagement. At Forest we have six supporter bodies and two individual representatives on the Fan Advisory Board. Are they properly consulted on these issues? If not, why not? Importantly, what are they doing about it?

Supporter bodies have to up their game on these issues and hold the club to account. As I posted none of the bodies or individuals on the NFFC FAB attended the action at Leicester City despite the call for support from the Football Supporters Association.

This week Man Utd announced no concessions for their remaining home fixtures regarding the 3,000 available tickets for each game - a flat rate of £66 irrespective of age. Supporters at all PL clubs are being affected and it’s time to make our collective voice heard.

I was wondering if those 'suites' had luxury padded seating, so I'm glad we're left in no doubt that they do!

Lots of Wolves (A) tickets available View attachment 44223
Thank you my friend. I had given up after getting the "unsuccessful in the ballot" email yesterday. A bit weird that the ballot would be unsuccessful when there are so many tickets available.

As an aside there was virtually a whole row of annoying youths behind me at City last night who were clearly not regular attendees at our games, supported other teams, and didn't live in Nottingham (or Manchester), so how and why are they getting tickets?

Sponsors?
I grabbed a couple of tickets that became available only a day or so before the trip to Bournemouth a couple of years ago.
Found ourselves surrounded by attendees ( can’t call them fans ) who weren’t at all interested in the game - we assumed them to be on sponsor tickets.

Hi guys, wondering if anyone can help,

I managed to get 2 Man United away tickets but I just noticed after buying in the small print that these must be picked up from the City Ground as Man United do not facilitate collections, unfortunately, I can't get to the City Ground between now and the game,

Would be a shame to not go at this stage so does anyone know if there's any way of getting around this? Any help would be hugely appreciated

Some empty seats around me last night.
Those behind me never stopped moaning from the kick off before leaving early.
The small numbers left when the players came across at the end of the game was embarrassing.
Our away support in adversity is poor - the corporates and the Jonny come lately supporters are having a detrimental impact. I feel for the genuine supporters who can’t get tickets.

Coming after the issues in the previous away game at the Emirates it is very disappointing.

Hopefully it will be better at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Agree our support vocally was very poor yesterday.

I last went to City in our first year back and depsite utter humilation - 6-0 when it could have been 12 - we sang throughtout , stayed to the end and applauded the players.

This time round a better performance and for much of the game we competed .

Yes the result still underlines a gulf which while while getting smaller , still remains between the teams. But we're in a better table position, at times playing better football, yet fans seem bored : MOK was half hearted and few COYRs aside nothing to really get behind the team. Elanga who depsite being switched wings due to Jota being roasted , was having abetterv game, seemed pleasantly surpised that we wheeled out his chant as he took a corner next go us in the first half.

Absoulte irony at the end with teenage City fans in level 1 singing - "champions of europe , you weren't even born " to a half full Forest end comprising mainly us old farts - who were actually there ! Our younger fans having long gone.

Meanwhile, we retorted with "where were you when you were shit" at a bunch of kids who themselves were unlikely to have been conceived during their shit phase . My things have changed.

Sidenote - the facilitiies , no queue at the bar or toilets did reflect the status of the City team.

I've noticed the atmosphere in the away ends in the PL is worse than the Championship a lot of the time. Arsenal away was really bad. I know Forest were awful, but even so.

Atmosphere so much better yesterday.
Less randoms in the crowd.
Helped by team engaging with the crowd before the game - doing the huddle and pumping up the atmosphere in front of us
Got the sense it was a premeditated plan and it worked.

Helps that we got off to a flier , which helped
But a maybe maybe we got off to the flier helped by a supportive crowd. Can't do harm
But great singing , indeed new songs, and back to mutually beneficial relationship

A friend of mine received an email from the club about not attending the Man City away game. Rather odd, as I was with him at the game and we had no problems scanning in the ticket. I know a few other people who have received similar emails, despite them attending the away game.

I did actually notice quite a few spare seats at Man City, so I understand what the club are trying to do. However, they've clearly not got a good system in place if people are being given a warning when they've actually attended the game.

Anyone else had any similar experiences? I know that some fans have been buying tickets and not turning up; this was apparent at Brighton away. I wonder if they've set the number of games for renewal too high. I think you need to attend 14 away games to renew membership, it would make sense to lower the 14 game requirement to stop people buying tickets just for the loyalty. At the same time, they need to stop sending out warning emails to fans who have attended the game.

Well if they didn't decided to create a new tier without pre-warning then this wouldn't happen would it! I mean I went to 9 away last season - if I'd have know they were going to create another tier, I probably would've tried for more! Actually scrap that, the queue system last season to scramble for tickets was nothing short of a disaster!!

Someone else mentioned receiving the same email after the Arsenal game when he had attended and could prove it.
It’s no good using technology which clearly isn’t watertight.

I would advise anyone attending an away game to take a selfie of themselves in the ground on a phone so the photo is date/timestamped, and then you can send it to the Ticket Office as proof.

Take one with your tackle out as well, that’ll teach the bastards.

My lad has a Pro membership and goes to all the home games with me bar 1 or at the most 2 games per season due to late nights/school etc.

When that happens i still use his membership but offer the ticket to my old man or friends etc and of course it'll be recorded that instead of a kids price purchased against it, it'll be an adult cost.

Would that go against me/him or is it a different set of rules from home to away memberships?

I've bought adult tickets for friends using the child's membership in the adult category multiple times, no issues. What's ridiculous though is that you can't buy a child/senior ticket using an adult membership (or a child using a senior membership) so it seems the club are totally fine with having people spend more money on tickets than their membership class suggests but heaven forbid anyone would try and buy a ticket in a lower priced category than their membership indicates...

It won't let you do that this year I have 3 pro memberships mine my dad's and my sons same as you last year occasionally my son couldn't go or the odd time my dad wouldn't feel up to it so I would change the ticket to an adult and offer it someone you can now only change it if you have a new customer number to attach it to and also I can't just buy 3 adult tickets this year (I could last year) because of the date of birth on each membership must corisponde to the purchase so I have to buy 1 adult 1 youth and 1 OAP hope that makes sense as I rarely do 🤣🤣

Seems you are correct mate.

Just rung the ticket office and they confirm i can only upgrade my lads ticket (now he can't go) if it's to someone who is already a member.

Shite!
