I wouldn't call it an unintended consequence.

I'd be pretty sure that the bloke in charge of ticketing DIDN'T walk in one morning, bash out that email and send it out to a bulk recipient list.

I'd be confident in saying that it will surely have been reviewed by someone else in the club hierarchy, and approved.

Consequently, the only thing that can be concluded is that this message, this tone, this confrontational style IS the style that Forest WANT to push, the attitude they want to convey.

Not an unintended consequence - this would appear to be a deliberately engineered approach.

It's the "we don't give a shit, f*** you" approach.

And it only works while you have the temporary (and fragile) position we currently occupy - demand equals or exceeds supply.

You're buggered when the tables turn.

There are many MANY ways to rephrase that kind of email (and all the emails and for example social media posts weaponising e.g. the ticketing system and waiting list etc) to convey the same message but with a wholly different tone which would go a long way to keeping people on-side.

Instant case in point - the press release re Container Corner:

As written, the home crowd is there as the entertainment..the cabaret, if you will..for the corporate corner people. "Put your prawn sandwiches down for a minute and listen to the silly people sing their song."
One word changed - "from" to "with" conveys the same message, but brings the corporate into the crowd - we're all doing this together.

I guess it all depends on what message you want to convey.
To be clear the intended consequence is to penalise supporters who buy away tickets purely to protect their priority status. It is difficult to argue against this.

The unintended consequence is to penalise those who:

1. Attend the game but are let down by the failure of the home club to record their attendance.
2. cannot attend for good reason at short notice e.g. health issues especially the disabled/chronically ill.

I support your view that these decisions are made at very senior level without understanding the full consequences.

Every PL Club has to have suitable policies and standards regarding supporter engagement. At Forest we have six supporter bodies and two individual representatives on the Fan Advisory Board. Are they properly consulted on these issues? If not, why not? Importantly, what are they doing about it?

Supporter bodies have to up their game on these issues and hold the club to account. As I posted none of the bodies or individuals on the NFFC FAB attended the action at Leicester City despite the call for support from the Football Supporters Association.

This week Man Utd announced no concessions for their remaining home fixtures regarding the 3,000 available tickets for each game - a flat rate of £66 irrespective of age. Supporters at all PL clubs are being affected and it’s time to make our collective voice heard.

I was wondering if those 'suites' had luxury padded seating, so I'm glad we're left in no doubt that they do!

Thank you my friend. I had given up after getting the "unsuccessful in the ballot" email yesterday. A bit weird that the ballot would be unsuccessful when there are so many tickets available.

As an aside there was virtually a whole row of annoying youths behind me at City last night who were clearly not regular attendees at our games, supported other teams, and didn't live in Nottingham (or Manchester), so how and why are they getting tickets?

Sponsors?
I grabbed a couple of tickets that became available only a day or so before the trip to Bournemouth a couple of years ago.
Found ourselves surrounded by attendees ( can’t call them fans ) who weren’t at all interested in the game - we assumed them to be on sponsor tickets.

Hi guys, wondering if anyone can help,

I managed to get 2 Man United away tickets but I just noticed after buying in the small print that these must be picked up from the City Ground as Man United do not facilitate collections, unfortunately, I can't get to the City Ground between now and the game,

Would be a shame to not go at this stage so does anyone know if there's any way of getting around this? Any help would be hugely appreciated

Some empty seats around me last night.
Those behind me never stopped moaning from the kick off before leaving early.
The small numbers left when the players came across at the end of the game was embarrassing.
Our away support in adversity is poor - the corporates and the Jonny come lately supporters are having a detrimental impact. I feel for the genuine supporters who can’t get tickets.

Coming after the issues in the previous away game at the Emirates it is very disappointing.

Hopefully it will be better at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Agree our support vocally was very poor yesterday.

I last went to City in our first year back and depsite utter humilation - 6-0 when it could have been 12 - we sang throughtout , stayed to the end and applauded the players.

This time round a better performance and for much of the game we competed .

Yes the result still underlines a gulf which while while getting smaller , still remains between the teams. But we're in a better table position, at times playing better football, yet fans seem bored : MOK was half hearted and few COYRs aside nothing to really get behind the team. Elanga who depsite being switched wings due to Jota being roasted , was having abetterv game, seemed pleasantly surpised that we wheeled out his chant as he took a corner next go us in the first half.

Absoulte irony at the end with teenage City fans in level 1 singing - "champions of europe , you weren't even born " to a half full Forest end comprising mainly us old farts - who were actually there ! Our younger fans having long gone.

Meanwhile, we retorted with "where were you when you were shit" at a bunch of kids who themselves were unlikely to have been conceived during their shit phase . My things have changed.

Sidenote - the facilitiies , no queue at the bar or toilets did reflect the status of the City team.

I've noticed the atmosphere in the away ends in the PL is worse than the Championship a lot of the time. Arsenal away was really bad. I know Forest were awful, but even so.
