Financial Fair Play (FFP)

In some ways the signing of Shelvey made sense, given that he had several years of PL experience including in relegation battles.

It was a shame that Shelvey was a total smunt and not a particularly good player either; one would have thought the DoF we had at that time would know him.
You can see why clubs come up and don't invest, You can see a future with 17 teams and 3 changing every season because the gap will be so huge. We spent big last season and literally just managed to stay up, I don't see how that changes for any club wanting to push on to better things.

Bit bleak really for the future of the game I think. I don't imagine were anywhere near Everton territory of breaches so although We've breached it seems incredibly harsh.

Just give us 20 points and lets f*** off back to the Championship, hate VAR anyway.

In the video posted earlier Fletcher made the point that it wasn't incompetence but a calculated gamble to buy players last January to keep us in the prem. I think he's right, Marinakis was never going to stand by and watch us get relegated without taking the risk.
So, if we get a points deuction (no punishment as yet announced) are we not quite likely to be relegated this season?
Bookies seem to think so.

At least Shelvey actually played!

It's signings like I'mdead Richards and Andrew Omabloodypointless that I can't get my head around
Well Richards was meant to be playing and Omobamidele was only in September so it should be fairly obvious to get your head round.

Bookies think we'll survive.

If we go down this year rather than last year we go down with an extra £120m in the bank, less any players we've bought this year, some of which are quite good: Murillo, Dominguez, Elanga etc - probably £100m of talent right there alone.

Makes promotion back at the first attempt much more likely, either we keep those players or we sell them and rebuild.

I bet Cooper is sat at home, with several Chairmen waiting for him to take his pick of which club he will manage next, smiling at the shambles that is now being revealed.

A Forest statement read: “Nottingham Forest acknowledges the statement from the Premier League confirming that the club has today been charged with a breach of the league’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules.

“The club intends to continue to cooperate fully with the Premier League on this matter and are confident of a speedy and fair resolution.”
Translated - we’re guilty but negotiating a reduced sentence..

That's the point , it was a gamble. We will deffo stay up as long as Nuno remains.
... and I still think there is a fair chance he has a release clause in his contract...
Bad things come in threes, my old wise Granny used to say:
Moussa Niakhate injusred in AFCON;
Forest guilty of FFP breach;
Nuno quits...
