Financial Fair Play (FFP)

Translated - we’re guilty but negotiating a reduced sentence..

Don't think it suggests anything really, it's a pretty bland response.

Could quite easily be translated to "we think we're not guilty but appreciate the grey areas so let's write nice and calmly and emphasise speed and fairness to persuade any deduction in points to be low, which we could take without getting relegated."

Well Richards was meant to be playing and Omobamidele was only in September so it should be fairly obvious to get your head round.
Yeah, i'll bet everyone at the club expected signing Omar Richards to turn out the way it did
Should have just stuck with Gaetan Bong.

Edit: Sarcasm, in case it wasn’t obvious 😆

Maranakis that is fecking crap by you. I am obvioulsy grateful for the spend and the commitment you have but you need to couple that with basic finanical management. Otherwise the thing you are trying to avoid like relegation is going to happen with points deductions.

Basically its the Matt Turner performance of chairmanship by Marankais.

Is it just everton and forest?
What about Man City and Chelsea?
They are in the so-called „Big Six“, the rules don‘t apply to them.

You should know that by now.

So the feeling is 6 points each for us and Everton, that would leave us at 17th and Everton at 18th. No problem just keep winning with Nuno lol.

Look whilst I agree the club needed the amount of players its obvious the amount spent does not reflect a good gamble for what we have now. Why have we got 6 full backs? That is absurd really. They should have budgeted for 2 players in every position only and than had a rolling total of wage budget and transfer fee that they tot up after every transfer so we dont fall foul of this. I cannot believe the incompetence of this all by the board.

Look we can all have a conversation about how crap the rules are but thats for a different thread. The only people that are to blame are those who run our finances. I dont want to be a club that blames everyone else. We are mature grown ups that accept the rules and take it on the chin if we have breached them even if the rules are shite.

Everton and Nottingham Forest confirm Premier League PSR breaches

The two clubs have each confirmed to the Premier League that they are in breach of the League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules

Everton FC and Nottingham Forest FC have each confirmed to the Premier League that they are in breach of the League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR). This is as a result of sustaining losses above the permitted thresholds for the assessment period ending Season 2022/23.

In accordance with Premier League Rules, both cases have now been referred to the chair of the Judicial Panel, who will appoint separate Commissions to determine the appropriate sanction.

Commissions are independent of the Premier League and member clubs. The proceedings are heard in private with the Commissions’ final decisions made public on the Premier League’s website. The League will make no further comment until that time.

There's the admission of guilt. Lawyers in to argue the toss over the punishment.

And Omobamidele was "only in September" ? What you on about?
He was signed on the last day of the Transfer Window, which was September 1st, if I remember rightly?

And perhaps Forest‘s retention of the expert Brief in the case, is to use him to argue their case to get the smallest possible penalty.

I don't quite understand the quite obvious wording from the club "confident of a speedy and fair resolution.”

Looking at the timeline, we have 2 weeks to respond in writing. We then won't hear the result of that and the punishment coming our way until the independent commissions conclude on 12th April. We can then appeal if wanted, but that result won't come until after season end.

"Speedy" - done or occurring quickly

We may not find out until April how much we missed FFP by?

No way of knowing what type of punishment we may face.

Why have all the journalists changed from a fine or points deductions to just points deductions???
