Current state of the squad

Yeah, I think we are going to spend big this window (again).

That is without Murillo going. If he goes I can see big big money.

The issue as we stand isn't really the money I don't think, it's being able to attract the players to take us to the next level. We worked really hard for Sangare, okay it hasn't worked (yet) but it took a big effort to get him here.

Wishlist for me for the rest of the window:

Sell:

Richards
O'Brien
Panzo
Dennis
Hwang

Loan out:
Aguilera

That leaves us with 19 players, 3 of whom would be under 22, so 16/25 (lol) squad places taken.

Sign:

1xGK - Carlos Miguel seems to be the one
1xRWB
1xCB (two if Worrall doesn't fancy being 5th choice, and his relationship with the club is salvageable)
1xLW
1xSTR

That would put us up to 24 players, with four squad places remaining, possibly more if the above signings are young.

I don't doubt we'll sign more than five new players between now and the end of September, and perhaps a couple of utility players would be useful.

I'll be really surprised if we don't drop upwards of £100m this transfer window.
Surely we need a proper left-footed LWB more than we need a RWB. We have Williams, Aina and now Moreira at RWB. I know Aina is good on the left but an actual lefty that side is more important than another RWB.

Just got to get Worrall,Richards,Panzo,O'Brien,Dennis,Hwang,Mighten and Bowler off the books now, and keep building looking forward to see what we have planned for this window

Fair point. I'd take one on each side, in that case, as I'm not expecting to see much of Moreira this season.

technically , hudson-odoi could swap flanks with elanga , both are right footed and elanga best moments are on the left earlier on in the season.

I’d say we are looking at 5 or 6 more signings at least, more if anyone key leaves.

At least one full back, one or two CBs, one attacking midfielder and one or two forwards/wide players

Interesting that Moiera (spellcheck!) seems to be involved with the first team squad - perhaps he'll add cover at RB while being used in a more advanced role and with the 23's?

Means we just need a first rate LB since Aina can back up Williams on the right (as well as compete for the LB shirt) too?

Aina is far better than Williams! Best full back I've seen at Forest since Pearce.

There is the last of the championship insurance squad in bowler,O'brien, panzo, mighten and possibly Worrall.

If and when that group moves on, it signals to me that we have moved onto a different phase I.e that's when we become an established PL team.

I can see them being replaced by bought in youth similar to moreira. Not great for our youth set up which needs to step up, but an exciting progression for us.

Agree

Moreira looked pretty sharp I thought, he's very attacking.

I actually am very very positive of our situation. Its been by far the best planning for a season we have ever done. We alomst had 2 players for every position now in our favoured 4-2-3-1.

This is what I see it as. So a left winger is deffo needed, also in teh squad numbers 24 and 25 need filling. I call them attacking utility and defensive utililty. So a player who can play full back/Centre Half and Defensive mid is the dream. Than an attacking utility so somone who can play winger/Striker/Attacking Mid.

I just want to say fair fecking play forest at the moment. If we can get rid of all those red ones than we are laughing! Maybe we can introduce Zac Abbott for some minutes next season as well.

The squad is coming along very nicely so far.

GK looks OK if Turner can be moved on, probably to be replaced by another youngster.

We could probably do with another CB if Nuno doesn't rate Worrall for depth (personally I'd keep him, despite the previous).

RB/LB are as deep as realistically required, as is CM.

We do need another winger and a striker, but it's good to see Bowler being given a chance and Dennis the same up front.

Encouraging times.

Looking at that I definitely see 2 wingers coming in based on the theory that you want 2 for every position.

Let's have one development player & one real big signing.

It all depends on Moreira really, if he gets loaned out than deffo need 2 pacey wingers. If we keep him than we only need 1. If Elanga and CHO are starters id be tempted to get 2 development wingers. Just I cant imagine CHO or Elanga will be happy sitting on the bench. If one of them are happy being squad players than thats great!

He's a right back/right wing back I believe.

Think he is more for the development squad.
