Strange…as the guys on Forest Focus said he wasn’t even allowed in the car park.

Harry?

I'd take Forest Focus with a large pinch of salt.

He's been training and coaching the kids for quite some time and was viewed as a mentor for them. Turned out for the U23s a few times as well.

i can understand why they were brought in and why nuno stopped our season loans from going back - tavares and origi even though there were talks of them going. January transfer window was tough , forest were under the threat of points deduction, no big money signings (sels had to be made due to turner high profile mistakes), afcon going on losing 5-6 players. With awoniyi injured and wood not always available himself , ribero was a backup just in case origi is also out, reyna was a backup creative player to mgw just in case of injury and he can also play on the flank.

honestly, worse case scenario, mgw, wood and origi got injured , you would be blaming the club for not anticipating what could happen.
The club gets blamed whatever happens.

So we are sitting at 24 players, plus Aguilera and Moreira as U21's .

Presumably we are trying to find new homes for at least some of Dennis, O'brien, Hwang, Panzo, maybe Joe and talk of Turner going?

Motty.

Youth Team
Things are looking up for the reds. Having likely avoided PSR and having some money in the bank to reinvest, we are looking to finalize a proper PL squad for the first time since coming back up and consolidate with a solid mid-table season and a decent cup run.

Business we need to do looks clear enough.

OUT: Dennis, Huang, O'Brien, Panzo, Turner, Worrall (unless he's happy to be 5th choice CB)

LOAN: Aguilera, Richards

IN: GK (apart from Carlos Miguel), CB x2 (x1 if Worrall stays), RB, LW, ACM/RW/LW utility, CF

Big question mark is if any crown jewel leaves, and how to replace with similar quality.

You have to say it's been a fantastic start to the window.

DT says the club are delighted with the past weeks work & I am not surprised.

We have a great core to build on now, it's more about improving what we've got now opposed to just finding PL competent players before. It is gonna be hard to find (and attract) the next level of quality.

I assumed the cutoff will be after Jan 1 , 2003 , but I'm not at all certain.
Yes, Neco and Brennan didn't count the season after we went up but Neco did last season so it's '03 births and younger. He's a few weeks too old.

So what I gather from that
Out
Hwang, dennis, aguilera (loan), OBrien, worral, panzo, Richards (loan), turner

So we will need
1 Lw, if moreira is good enough he’s right wing cover, rb, cb and GK

Than we’ll need a number 24 which is defensive utility and a number 25 an attacking utility.

The position that worries me most at moment is CF. Big T & Chris Wood is too threadbare - one has ongoing injury problems and the other’s no spring chicken. Forest need another good starting option up front if we’re going to be more competitive.

The absolute musts are 2 CBs and a CF.

Re winger, I wonder if Almiron at Newcastle has come up in conversation? I’m guessing Forest consider him too old at 30 as we want players with resale value. He’s apparently available though.

Agree, and it has to be someone with more goals in them than Che Adams. Difficult one as good scorers aren’t going to want to come as back-up. I love Taiwo but we can’t afford another season of him as a non-playing main striker. I wonder if the club will bring someone in ahead of him.

He's being sold to Saudi I believe.

The transfer window is so far border lining on excellent.
If we can get more of the players who are surplus to requirements out the door for decent fees, we should have done enough to set a level where we can, if we keep on top of future finances, never have to worry about whichever financial rules are bought in to replace PSR.

I like the system of buying younger players knowing that if only a couple are real talents they can actually be sold later for a good profit which may cover the main costs of all of them.

Very happy so far, let’s hope for a few upgrades who fit in with Nunos wishes.

Wishlist for me for the rest of the window:

Sell:

Richards
O'Brien
Panzo
Dennis
Hwang

Loan out:
Aguilera

That leaves us with 19 players, 3 of whom would be under 22, so 16/25 (lol) squad places taken.

Sign:

1xGK - Carlos Miguel seems to be the one
1xRWB
1xCB (two if Worrall doesn't fancy being 5th choice, and his relationship with the club is salvageable)
1xLW
1xSTR

That would put us up to 24 players, with four squad places remaining, possibly more if the above signings are young.

I don't doubt we'll sign more than five new players between now and the end of September, and perhaps a couple of utility players would be useful.

I'll be really surprised if we don't drop upwards of £100m this transfer window.
