Best Performance by a Red

This is the antidote to "The Worst..."
Apologies if there are other threads already in existence... i did do a search and nothing came up, so here goes:
Without a doubt in my mind the Best Performance by a Red Award goes to Duncan McKenzie in the humiliation of Tony Book and the rest of his light blue cohorts.
The runner up: Lars Bohinen for the starring role in the 7-1 thrashing of the Owls.
Also in contention: Ian Storey-Moore in that FA Cup thriller versus Everton.
These are just 3 of the simply magical performances I have personally witnessed over the nigh-on 60 years I have been a Forest supporter.

I agree,Captain-Duncan McKenzie’s wonderful display against a star-studded Manchester City side in
1974 tops the list.
Second for me would be Peter Shilton’s goalkeeping masterclass at Tottenham in a League Cup Quarter
Final in 1982-he kept Spurs at bay single-handedly that night(before succumbing to an Ossie Ardiles
goal).

Garath McCleary vs Leeds away 2012.

I have an awful memory for stuff like this, but a few that I specifically remember

As mentioned Samba vs. Sheff Utd up there for performance and importance

Earnshaw hat-trick vs. Leicester

McCleary away to Leeds in the 3-7

Harewood home to Stoke

David Vaughan away to Leicester during Billy second spell

I think I remember Camp having a great game away to derby?

Eric Lichaj home to Arsenal

Jeez I should be able to remember more over the last 23 years haha Southall at home to Swindon maybe?

Antonio must have some too, I remember great moments from him rather than goals. Maybe Bolton at home, I remember he'd get on the ball on the half-way line and everyone would stand as even then you felt he was going to go all the way and score!

Has anyone said Radoslaw Majewski against Huddersfield yet?

Nicky Southall against Swindon in L1 era?

Battered 'em 7-1, Trigger got a hatrick and 3 assists IIRC. He was literally pinging balls all over the park and getting them drop on a penny.

SVC against Sunderland 1993/94 3-2 win scored two typical Stanley goals, I enjoyed a pint in the local that night 🙂

Bohinen in that 7-1 Wed win was da bomb. Although Raddy was everywhere when he got his hat-trick against Udders too. We passed it around so much, and Raddy always seemed to get to the ball before every Udders defender. Class.
In that game, Bohinen was the choreographer, the maestro, the orchestra conductor.
Roy and Collymore were the lead dancers, the soloists.
The 3 of them could have played wearing blindfolds and still have found each other with the ball at will.

Fitzcarraldo

Ian Storey-Moore
I remember Keane against Norwich in 90/91. We'd seen enough by now to know how good the kid was but this game showed us the levels he could reach. Still only 19 at the time but already running things.

There have been so many in my lifetime - as I can remember back to the days when we were contenders at the top end of the top division. Many of those already mentioned, but I'd actually struggle to determine what was the absolute best.
One that stands out for me as a really surprisingly good performance, as he didn't do much else, was Daryl Murphy's almost perfect battering ram/.target-man performance when we tonked Leeds under Karanka.

John Robertson
One that stands out was Antonio vs Watford at Vicarage Road. We were pretty poor overall against a really good Watford team but came away with a draw as MA just decided to take them on all by himself and scored twice. One of them he just ran from the halfway line if I remember correctly
