Arvin Appiah

Isn’t it great to see another NFFC Nigel Doughty Academy graduate doing well?

I have a 100% success rate in the threads I've opened (this is the only one).

I might be wrong but I think black musicians often use the word like "brothers" for it.

But you asking the wrong person here mate.

Aye. I've lost track of what's right or wrong anymore

Just seemed a really bizarre way to open a footy vid, but I guess that's what all the cool kids are doing these days.

Everyone here, black usually (sometimes Latino but for the most part they shouldn’t be using the word) use it as a term of endearment.

It’s a term for “brother” basically.

It’s a drake song, his song are usually plastered on footie highlight vids on twitter. Him, popsmoke, Da Baby, and I think maybe future as well. Just apart of our, them specifically since I’m white, culture.

Also Arvin looks REALLY good.

As per Chris above, it’s nice to see another from our academy succeed. Too bad we didn’t get to see him succeed here.

At the risk of a huge derailment, it's totally inappropriate for one group of people to be 'permitted' to use a word and others not. It's part of the problem.

Let’s not talk about it in this thread.

Yes and no. When we have sold them after barely making our first team to fund god knows how many shit players' wages over the past 12 months, I don't really see it as a great thing really - he should be in our team.

Being sold today to Lugo (nice place I've been there, it's in Galicia).

Not sure of the fee or if we had a sell on, but can't see that they would have made a profit on him.

Thought it was a loan deal?

If permanent, then Almeria have taken a massive loss as Lugo wont have money to spend like that.

It was a permanent deal. I believe Almeria had rich new owners and asked Jorge Mendes for recommendations on where to throw their money. Hence they bid 8m on a young player with hardly any first team experience. Now they are moving him on for a huge loss.

Sound familiar?

Football is an agent’s world and we’re all just living in it......

Edit: thought deal in question was Forest to Almeria, seems it was the Almeria-Lugo deal.

How does that work with Brexit? Given that Appiah isn't an EU player.

As he was already resident in Spain and employed there, it would be expected he would retain the right to live and work in Spain, post-Brexit.

Which means he could then move between Spanish clubs. He’d struggle to move to another EU-member state, though.

Wait I thought he was doing good for them, why did they sell?

Finished last season well but had an operation in the summer & hasn't been able to get back in. Think they changed manager as well.

Pretty sure he’s got Dutch and Ghanaian citizenship too. He only moved to England when he was little.

Not really. He’s not shown anything since he left to suggest he would be worth pursuing. Chalk this one down as a great deal for us and move on I think.

He's still only 20, seems harsh to write him off completely. Can't imagine it was easy for him being in a foreign country over the past two years either.

Exactly, the selling of Burke, Brereton and appiah hindered their career in my eyes. Saying that there fans saying good riddance to Ben Osborne when he left and prepared to sell cash before his breakthrough season and still fans righting Yates off now.
