Turns 17 today.

Should hopefully see news soon of him signing his first professional contract with us.

Nottingham Forest are delighted to announce that striker Arvin Appiah has signed a professional contract with the club.

The 17-year-old has been a regular for both the Under 16s and the Under 18s during his time at the Nigel Doughty Academy and recently helped the Under 18s reach the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup with victory over Leicester City.

Appiah has also featured regularly for the Under 23s in the current campaign, scoring three goals for the side, and has earned international recognition after being called up by England at Under 17 level.

In an Olympiacos forum there's a tradition for posters picking favourite players. There's a real battle on this choice and therefore I have a tradition of choosing either underdogs whom nobody wants or very young players whom I've never seen.

Since I noticed that young Arvin had no topic of his own, hands off people, he's mine.

Hopefully he can lead us to Appiah times

Oh, and I'll be kind enough not to start the "Anel posts".

Yet.

Been a tough time recently for him as Cyrille was his agent. One of the better one's around.

If that was against teams of a similar standard to ours and if he can constantly do what that snippet shows then he's top end Premier quality.

What's the opinion of the lads who go to watch our youth?

I like his finishing. Looks quite pacey so if he gets into the first team he'll probably start as a winger?

Although i remember someone repeatedly mentioning karanka likes to play a winger/striker upfront to run the channels or something? Could be the ideal candidate

Poor lad. Just as his career gets going his agent and, from what I know of Cyrille, his friend and mentor, dies. Tough for him; I hope the other lads and the academy have rallied around.

3 goals? NPEFNF

Sad sad times, they have indeed rallied round, Cyril, gentleman, RIP. Wolves & Forest did moving minutes applause on Saturday, respect!

From the report of today's U23 match (where Bouchalakis and Hobbs played for 90 minutes):

There were some good performances out there today. Hobbs and Crookes in the centre of defence, Edser in the middle of the park was a live wire, but I’d have to go with Arvin Appiah. His performance was a joy to watch. His ability on the ball, to put defenders on the back foot and create chances is so good to see. A real talent, and throughout this season, he’s got physically stronger. You don’t see him knocked off the ball with quite so much ease as you perhaps did before.

I know how to pick them (blindly).

The seniors cant score for toffee and we have someone tearing up the under 21's

Where's Greg Halford to stick up front?

I actually thought at the time Halford was our best option up front. Not that he scored, mind you... but we did, plenty. I'd still have kept him for his ability to play in every position, pretty much.

Might get a promotion winners medal this season.

STFU Barry, for f***’s sake!
