£3.5 million spent on agent fees!

redanddeadly

Another negative article for Forest which some will now use to stick the knife in.

Not that it isn't undeserved only unhelpful as most should know our finances are an absolute shambles already anyway.

We have one of the worst finances in the league and are totally reliant on our gate money for income but no one in this league makes a profit and those who fail to spend go straight down such as Blackpool and Rotherham.

I've heard that due to lack of scouting we had relied too heavily on agents for players hence the complete average shite we've been palmed off with and is no doubt the reason for these figures.

Now that we have MW and his team I'm hoping that the club gets run a damn site better both on the pitch and behind the scenes but it's not as if everyone else isn't hemorrhaging money in this division because they are as well so it's important to see it for what it is instead of getting caught up in the sensationalist hype of the article.

It's all about mid-table...
Do we pay an agent simply because he represents a players we sign/sell or are these payments for introductions etc? I thought our manager/coach/DOF search out our own targets? All this is very confusing. When I was young we bought and sold players and there were no agents, I wonder how we managed?

They are the cancer of the game and the players absolutely love them.

I'm with Brian Clough, f*** 'em off, ban them.

It's not a negative article or media stirring, the FA and FL decided to publish every club's agent fee spend every year in an attempt to bring greater transparency to a previously shady area of the game.

Don't see how the papers reporting on released information is their fault to be honest.

Our fucktard of an owner spending 3.5m or whatever it was on agents fees when we have to sell our best players to keep the lights on however....

If the club was run properly, the media would struggle to publish negative stories about us. I don't concern myself with the details too much, as if it wasn't on agents fees, Fawaz would waste millions on chocolate fireguards or Tesco footballs or some other retarded shit, cos, yaknow, he's a f***ing retard.

Just another example of his fuckwittery

The problem here is not Fawaz.

The problem is agents.

Sorry. Did I inadvertently type "agents" in that last post?

This was obviously a small typo.

I should have typed "blood-sucking parasitic scum who should be hounded out of civilised society for the leeching shitty bastards they are". I'm sure you understand how easily such a minor slip of the finger can occur.

Apologies.

The problem is agents.

Agents are a cancer throughout football.
But spending £3.5m because we don't have a scouting system and are run like a sunday league club is 100% down to Fawaz.

Until he leaves he will always find ways to waste money and run the club badly. He must sell this summer for the survival of the club.

166% wages/turnover, the worst in the championship is another example of his terrible ownership. The man is killing us.

Everything is doom and woe because Billy is in charge.

Sorry wrong year/agenda.

Everything is doom and woe because Fawaz is in charge.

We've just beat Udders to give ourself a great chance of staying up. Let's focus on how nothing will ever work though, simply because we refuse to believe it will due to nothing more than our own failed logic.

You know, the same logic which said sacking Davies would improve things, and which didn't see Fawaz at fault for anything back then

Getting rid of Fawaz is the only way anything good will happen now, just like getting rid of Davies was back then

Yep. Getting rid of Fawaz would right a lot of wrongs.
Too many to spend my time listing.

Again this club will never be succesful whilst that fuckwit owns it. Simple as that.

Getting rid of our fans who'd sooner stick the knives in instead of enjoying themselves a bit after a great win would right more.

Alf, it's a point of discussion on a football clubs forum which relates directly to the club. Just because it's a negative point doesn't mean fans are fuming and will not enjoy that we won at the weekend. I couldn't give a toss about this kind of thing when it comes to matchday, and neither does anybody else otherwise you would hear it in the terraces in form of chants - but it's a point of discussion as to why it's happening.

It's not some agenda against the club, I know you ironically defend and bring up Billy Davies in every f***ing thread but you don't have to act as paranoid as him either. Oh yeah and for the record, getting rid of Davies was a good thing for the club because he was ripping the soul out of it. Shame you can't see that past your love-in for him. Anyway I have bitten and I have fallen into the trap of debating that idiot again, so never mind. It just gets on my nerves.

Clubs should have to disclose which agent fees goes where anyway.

.....Is the correct response to an article like the one posted.

Right response, wrong focus.

That's what I said earlier wasn't it?

No issue with the discussion, just highlighting that the anger it breeds amongst some fans is the reaction said article is designed to bait.

And that previously said baiting and fan reaction, & subsequent owner reaction, has harmed us.

Alf keep your head buried in the sand mate, it's safe there.

I on the other hand will discuss the incompetence of your overlord and why Brereton will be sold just to cover crap like Dimutru's, Kasami's, McCormack's and Lica's wages.

"Safe" "your overlord"? WTF

Like I say, if you want to enjoy football don't pay any mind to peices like these and enjoy the good days out. If not absorb yourself in the woe.

If you want to villanize me to make you feel better feel free.

But how you can be pissed off at something which hasn't happened, to cover the wages of players which someone else who has left bought here is bizare. Ben's not been sold, Pedros gone.

Is Ben's sale going to be as quick, poor and guarenteed as Cash's was back in Jan?

There's a very small part of me that actually wants to see Fawaz grow a pair, stay the course with Warburton and co, and stick it out here just to take the wind out of the moaning vuvuzelas.

Theres only so many ways of surmising that Fawaz is shit before it starts to become a bit repetitive though. Its poor form on Fawaz part, but Sam Gordon & Frank McParlands influence has to give hope going forward.

With there being no way fans can positively influence what goes on under Fawaz, surely the best bet short term is to just enjoy the football & focus on the positives.
