Agree with this

I love Murillo (and Omo for that matter) but I think having two 21 year old centre backs starting games has weakened us defensively
Whilst there is something in this, Felipe‘s knees are made of cheese and Willy Boly appears to have died, so what to do?

Well, quite

We've been forced into playing Murillo and Omo but all things being equal next season I'd like to see some experience brought in at CB

Also we could, you know, have stuck by our club captain who whilst not being the most gifted CB in the world never failed to put in a shift instead of bombing him out to Turkey

Niakhate seems to be the forgotten man/fall guy for the wrong decision for the Villa game.

He was with Murillo for the Newcastle/Man U back to back wins.

Newcastle are a tall team too and we still got away with conceding just 1 (set piece issue).

I'd start Niakhate and Murillo for the time being until Boly is back fit.

My guess is that he wasn't proactive enough with Newcastle's goals and, being left sided, is down the pecking order due to that (and how much play goes through Murillo)

Murillo is a sublime footballer and a joy to watch.

But his value to others (and his future value) is probably much more than his own field value to us right now. He has some outstanding attributes, but he's no better than an average PL CB at this moment in time.

If you can swap Murillo for a more experienced big ugly bastard of a CB and a wide player (and still have change in the bank) that makes us a better side next year.
I think that depends on which side you put him in. I'd agree based upon him being in a team towards the bottom but stick him in a side like City, Liverpool or Arsenal and he'd absolutely thrive and his value increases.

Hard disagree regarding his value.

For a passing side that dominates possession, he has a combination of unique and desirable attributes - vision, accuracy, pace, left foot.

He's been showcasing these skills in a defensive, counter-attacking team. Just think about that for a moment.

Sorry. I wasn't clear.

His value for us isn't as high as elsewhere. So I agree with you.

60m will be great value for a top club, but he's not worth 60m on the field for us.

Ah, I see what mean now. Apologies! It's a good point that you make.

I suppose part of his field value for Forest is his talent level contributing to the idea that we're not a pushover, which can be valuable than in some situations.

I agree that Forest can probably find more of a middle-ground player though. Someone like Joachim Andersen at Palace is a decent example - he can play with his feet, to a lesser degree than Murillo, but he dominates in the air too.

The problem with Murillo at Forest is that the little possession we have of the ball highlights his weaknesses

Stick him in a side that dominates the ball and these will largely be negated, and all of his immense talent will shine

That's his worth to a "bigger" club

Couldn't have put it better myself, the passing range, even the ability to come out from the back is another level. It's like his a sweeper playing as CB. Could do what van dijk did to Liverpool defence.

I suppose more than £20m is right. Could say the same about more than £50m though.

I mean technically they’re correct, I’m pretty sure it was reported a month or two ago anyone who wants Murillo or MGW the starting price is above what we got for BJ, so £50M plus.

On the flipside we don’t really have FFP problems after June 30th if we stay up. And even before then 2 points is the benchmark set by Everton following a £62m season loss (£16.6m overall breach). We shouldn’t be anywhere near that so we should sell at the right price.

There is made up shit and there's football insider.

Maybe he's literally opened up a football and found some fortune cookie type prediction inside one of them.

Let's not give the oxygen of publicity to this codswallop.

I'd always assumed that if Johnson wasn't allowed in this year's accounts we'd be ok pretty much the year after because of that sale and the way amortisation works. Mangala sale too. Am I wrong?
