It's supposed to be independent of the premier league so if they have a say on this there is no doubt they have there say over var too so if that is the case there var audio better be squeaky clean I'd say if we get points back it could be for this reason as a silencer.
Of course all this could be bollox and they indeed are totally independent and will decide on just the facts in front of them and to be honest I have no idea which if these 2 scenarios is the right one anymore

I said that as well, I reckon the "you can hear it but not publish it" will be used with the rest of the sentence being "and we'll give you some points back so you don't drop us in it".

But then that's another shitstorm for the PL with other clubs demanding to know about the audio to jump to conclusions.

At this point I'd love for that to be a case but the audio somehow finds it's way in to public domain as well.

A message released by the PL on Saturday night acknowledging Sheffield United's "pending" relegation clearly implied so.
I wouldn't read too much into that, Otis. I think it's just pedantic technical speak.

Sheffield United are guaranteed to be relegated, but they are not technically relegated until the season ends.

Just my interpretation, anyway!

I think that's a fair interpretation PZ, but I took it that a counter-appeal was lodged by the PL.

Didn't it just mean that the final table couldn't be confirmed until the points deduction appeals had been completed?

That makes very little sense to me that Forest would only appeal for a single point.
Maybe we appealed for 2 in the hope they'd meet us halfway...

Im i right in thinking IF we get 2 points back and beat Sheff Utd and Luton and Burnley both lose this weekend, Luton have to get 9 goals in there last two and Burnley have got to get 12 goals, we could be technically safe by the weekend?
If Burnley lose they are down if we win and get 2 points back.

If they draw then the 12 goal swing applies.

Luton is a 9 goal swing at present but.....

For us to win and them to lose the goal difference scenario will look better for us anyway.

As it happens I don't see Luton not beating Everton though who genuinely won't give a fig anymore now they are safe and they weren't very good before that really. If they announce that we have 2 points back before Friday it would be nice because regardless of the result Luton won't over take us unless they win by 10 or more goals.
