Raises a few questions. With Giraldi gone and Wilson yet to arrive...

1) who's driving this as a target?

2) why are we targeting players when the main dude responsible for them isn't in place yet?

This is all of course assuming there is any truth in the article.

Our scouting won't be a one man operation.
So scouts are now in charge or recruitment? I didn't think we were being run THAT bad lol.

Seriously, who's the organizer on all this? One of our biggest downfalls in recent years has been just buying players - good or bad - with no real collective vision or focus.

With no Giraldi and no Wilson, someone at the club must be taking charge. Which seems silly considering they are just stop-gaps, a bit like when we bought in Zach Clough. Surely we should save signing players until we're sure they'll have a use and place here?

Tim Vickery reckons Pedro has a good eye for goal and good technique but is pretty slow. That's if we're talking about the same player.

Chris Brass is the Director of Scouting and Accademy Recuitment. Connor Barrett manages the scouting network for senior football. Ross Wilson is the Cheif Football Officer. Kyriakos Dourekas is the Director of Football.

I imagine the flow and phasing of transfers looks something like this.

The scouting network will consists of the club's stable of scouts, scouts that Ross Wilson brings along, maybe some scouts Cooper trusts.

You’ve put far too much work in to that!

Its my main slide when I apply for Wilson's Job... just change his name for my name and wow the big man.
If you want that job you need to create another factor, call it brown nosing, probably want it in the colour brown too for solid attention to detail. Lines from all persons directly to EM and Em Jr.

In that case, change the green

After our Liverpool win, again a number of folks in the media referenced our transfer chaos, which annoys me no end.

I read an article that less than 50% of transfers are a success, and thought to do an analysis of the 30 transfers (not that we effing care) from 2022/23, and whether they turned out well. Sometimes a couple of years is required to judge whether a transfer is a success (take Wood, after six months/even a year, he would have been marked as a flop). I think most are self-explanatory. I did take into account the cost of the transfer/loan, so if someone like Kanuric cost buttons, then its neutral, and not a hit or a flop. Could have done the same with Bade, but because he blossomed elsewhere, I marked him as a flop.

Overall 15 hits, 2 neutral and 13 flops. Even most of the flops can be explained away. Hwang was a favour for Oly, O'Brien, we will make back most of what we spent etc.. Only big money flops are really Shelvey and Dennis. Overall I would say rather good, considering the massive rebuilding which was required. And even better, in the past two years.
