Head's not too bad but I definitely acted like a prize bell-end.

Which is annoying as I'm usually a pleasant (if slightly gormless) drunk.

Heff- apologies mate. Your threads make the transfer windows so much better. Please keep up the good work.

Mods- apologies for you having to read & tidy up that nonsense. Phone will stay firmly in my pocket next time I have a drink.

Right- who's this Wilmar Barrios chap? 😅

If we haven't signed a keeper this time next week, I say we get you properly pissed and give you Wilson's email (carrier pigeon?) and let you do your thing.

I think it's only reasonable.

The rumours suggest we’re quite happy to pivot away from Henderson well before now, moving on to Turner/Kasper/that Slovakian lad from the MLS.
My gut feeling is that Hendo will sign at the back end of the window (for our part there’s no rush if he’s not fit to play). The other keeper will be Turner if we can get for £8-10M or a loan for Schmeichel maybe.

Yeah I will be really surprised if he doesn't. The lack of noise about him going anywhere else is probably telling, they are just waiting until he's fit IMO. What's the point in signing somebody when you know he can't play yet anyway? You are just throwing his wages in the bin.

I accept that you're influenced by comments from fans of Wilson's previous clubs Cloughie, but as I see it his brief is the huge task of sorting out the inevitable fall-out both on the playing side and behind the scenes from last season's attempt to compete and survive in this league.

I also see that as a task that will take much longer than one summer to complete, therefore I've decided to give the bloke a reasonable chance to do that before wanting him replaced.
Obviously the views of supporters from Wilson’s previous clubs are bound to be taken into consideration,
Otis-but my main concern at the moment is the apparent inertia in giving SC the best possible chance to
keep us in the top flight for another season (whilst accepting it’s not always easy to bring new
players in).
Take the goalkeeper situation-why the hell have we been fannying around all summer trying to bring in
Dean Henderson when he’s not even fit to take to the field? I’m sure SC would have really appreciated working with a top class goalkeeper in pre-season to work with the defence.
There are also other areas of the squad that need urgently addressing (e.g a decent backup striker) before
we start another brutal campaign at Arsenal next Saturday.
If you standstill in the Premier League then it spells disaster (as Leicester proved last season) and from
where I’m standing we’re not moving quickly or smartly enough on player recruitment (both in and out).
I can see no point in being the best run club in the Championship behind the scenes next season.

No one will dispute much of that, but I will argue that signing the players that the manager and recruitment people have identified as the ones they want to bring in isn't as easy as you believe it is - especially on a budget with FFP-compliance as a serious consideration, and the existential impact that Saudi Arabia is having on the market now that players in their prime are being targetted as much as those at the veteran stage of their careers (the added fact that FIFA has allowed the SA transfer window to close weeks later than in Europe is particularly concerning).
