Politics and whatnot aside, the highlight package is very impressive. He would seem to be an ideal fit for one of our needs. I seem to recall taking notice of him during a World Cup match, or maybe another international.

The posts criticising Wilson are pretty harsh. No-one here has any idea of what he does day to day, what budget or remit he's been given, how close deals are, what players we are actually targeting etc. People just want plentiful and immediate transfers and have just decided he's useless, based on what Rangers fans have said. Similarly, people decided that Dane Murphy was God, when in reality they had absolutely no idea how he performed on a daily basis. The only thing that we actually factually know that Murphy did was bring in Cooper, which he deserves massive credit for.
Agreed, looks very tidy. Almost Kante like, obviously not at his level. Similar style of play though.
I've just spent a not so happy 15 minutes wading through last nights posts on this thread and deleting a good number of them.
If you want to either behave like a spoilt child just because we haven't signed anyone or get so drunk you think insulting everyone is a good idea then you'll find yourself doing it on another forum because it (especially the latter) won't be tolerated here.

I think many Southampton supporters weren’t that impressed with Wilson either (there’s no smoke

It’s true that we don’t know what budget he’s got (it’s quite possible that we are working on limited
funds due to last season’s spending spree).If that’s the case-why are we supposedly targeting players
who are highly unlikely to want to come to Forest or are probably too expensive?
Also-to leave ourselves short of a top class goalkeeper with less than a week before the first league
game is highly worrying (not to mention the other obvious gaps in the squad).
My biggest fear is that Wilson will drag Forest and Cooper down with him.

Who has said who are are genuinely targeting, other than a few calls from Twitter? We can't beat him up over 'targets' when the names touted could be total internet nonsense.
I don't disagree with you on a lot of your points though, particularly around the goalie situation, but let's hold for now. I suspect we've played the long game with Henderson until it's become untenable.

The rumours suggest we’re quite happy to pivot away from Henderson well before now, moving on to Turner/Kasper/that Slovakian lad from the MLS.
It frustrates me that people see the lack of activity as lack of ambition. It is far easier to bring in substandard bodies than elite players, and I’d rather we held our nerve to significantly upgrade the squad rather than signing players cos bob fossil off LTLF is getting his knickers in a twist

I accept that you're influenced by comments from fans of Wilson's previous clubs Cloughie, but as I see it his brief is the huge task of sorting out the inevitable fall-out both on the playing side and behind the scenes from last season's attempt to compete and survive in this league.
I also see that as a task that will take much longer than one summer to complete, therefore I've decided to give the bloke a reasonable chance to do that before wanting him replaced.
