Tottenham v Bolton

There was also David Longhurst who started his career with us. He was only 25 when he collapsed and died on the pitch.
It seems inexplicable how this kind of thing can happen to fit young men. I just hope the medical attention Fabrice recieved means there's a happier ending this time.

I can remember that one, as my GP at the time was Lincoln Citys club doctor. Listening to 5Live and its completely surreal.

Nice tweet from Critiano Ronaldo 'were all wanderers tonight'

Has he singed yet?
Sky reporting that he's in a stable condition now. That's better news at least.

It's really good news.

Let's hope he is OK and makes a full recovery.

Hoping he will be ok. Was shocked to hear about this.

The dirty side of this is that there is some right ***** on twitter. No respect pricks.

Most of it is from Sickipedia. They also started jokes about Garry Speed. There is truly disgusting people out there.

if he's stable then he certainly didn't stop breathing for 10 minutes - conflicting reports - hope he's ok.

I've seen quite a bit from actual people. Some of them thinking they have done nothing wrong.

If he didn't breathe for 10 mins then he would almost certainly be brain dead. It cannot be correct.

Not necessarily so. People have gone longer and not been brain dead. CPR also can be a big help in preventing that.

That aside, I do hope that things go well for him. That things improve and that there's no long term damage.

Is stable an indication of actual wellbeing or just as it sounds, there is no major fluctuation in vital signs? Genuine question, I don't know the answer.

Stable, the way I see it, is that the problem is not getting any worse or any better. For example I think that people can be in a critical condition but also stable meaning that they aren't getting worse and not getting any better.

EDIT: Can also means the person has stable vital signs.

This.

Also he might not be breathing by himself. By that I mean he could be relying on a machine. I would imagine the next 24 hours are going to be critical.

Cheers.

I hope the fact that medical attention was pretty much immediate gives the lad every chance of a full recovery.

It will definitely help. They got to him in super fast time. Faster than most people will get treatment. The medics deserve all the praise they are getting for the response.

Awful news. In intensive care :( Hope he pulls through.

Aside of the idiot on twitter there have been loads of get well messages from players and clubs and of course fans which is really heartwarming and shows that the overwhelming majority of people in football will always pull together at times like this.

Looks alarmingly similar to Antonio Puerta's case. He collapsed twice - once on the pitch after suffering a heart attack, then again off it - and eventually succumbed due to massive organ failure.

Does put everything into perspective. Pray and hope he comes through. He's one of the good guys.

No wonder my post count..
Just got back home now. Made the journey down with my mate, as whoever tends to listen to my pointless rants, you'd probably know I often look out for Bolton results, as does he, so we both made the trip down.

The game kicked off quite well, the Bolton fans were in good voice, even more so when we scored in the opening minutes. We were all swiftly silenced when Spurs equalised. The game really picked up as well after that, end to end stuff.

Anyway, Spurs were on the attack to our end and the ball went out of play, when suddenly I saw Muamba on the floor. I thought he went over on his foot awkwardly or something, but the urgency of the players signals to the dugout said otherwise. When the stretcher was rushed over, we were all thinking 'shit... this could be serious'. I could see his body convulsing which really scared me. What really hit home was the sight of the medics giving him CPR. You couldn't see Muamba, but you could tell by the movement.

The entire stadium was chanting him on, it was really something.

So after what felt like hours, he was carried off with a round of applause, followed by absolute silence. We all skulked out of White Hart Lane silently and onto the train.

It's been a f***ing surreal evening and if I'm honest I'm still in a bit of shock.

I really hope he pulls through.
