That is a good point. Public transport in the UK outside of London is poor in every way. Nottingham is better than most places however, although the local trains and hopeless and the rest of the trains are almost hopeless. How about supporters buses with a dedicated place to park (perhaps on the Embankment for some, around the cricket ground for others). Newark, Sleaford and other places do this, organised I think through supporters club branches.
Not a bad idea but then i'd forgot we have a supporters club to be honest.

The whole things moot anyway as i'm sure we was relegated or something yesterday

London is good, when all is running, but it often isn’t the case.

Nottingham has quite a comprehensive bus service with two independent bus operators. I’ve lived in areas where you have to rely on Stagecoach, which are terrible. Problem is the roads are congested and Nottingham is constrained by the river crossings.

If only there were some other way of moving transport over rivers, without having to use bridges?

I don‘t know, some sort of, maybe, perhaps, science-fiction underground tunnelling technology or something? Like the Mole in Thunderbirds used to do?

I mean, clever engineers managed to tunnel entirely under the English Channel to France; sticking a kilometre or so to cross the Trent should be child‘s play by comparison!

Notts county Council would probably try to pay for it by making me pay to park on my own drive

It would have been more than handy if the railway still existed at Lady Bay Bridge. A station close to Radcliffe Road as well, three or four minutes into town from there. Still, hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Road closures are about safety. Alongside those closures that are now in place on match days, I can see the case being made (when the ground capacity is expanded) for a lane closure on Trent Bridge, starting on London Road, and further restrictions around the TBI. People will be cross about it to start with, but as with the other closures, they'll get used to it. Other than that, there's little else that can be done.
The new pedestrian and cycle bridge that is going to be built from Lady Bay will help a bit, but only a bit.
The key point is, as in Germany and elsewhere, there is not one solution. Different modes of transport all have a part to play and for the WFCG, it'll be years before the WB planners will let a tram cross the river so Forest have a heavy reliance on cars and buses. That's why I've previously said that a serious plan to accommodate Forest supporters buses must be developed.

It'd be even better if the ring road carried "straight on" at Gamston and across the river to the A612 at the racecourse, but that's a different question.

Hopefully, with an East Mids Mayor and a new Govmnt (one not entirely focussed on it's ability to fleece everyone) that will happen. Pigs might also fly!

While there's a lot in this video - the long awaited interview with Tom Cartledge - there's also not much we didn't already know

The big talking point will probably be the shipping containers - mostly corporate housing for the Quinoa Butty brigade.

No more information forthcoming regarding either construction details or a program of works which was disappointing. " Certainly before Christmas" was the last statement made so still waiting on anything meaningful for me anyway.

Immediately forgettable interview - nothing of substance, just another example of the Trust sucking up to the club.
All entirely predictable, non threatening questions.
Yawnfest 🥱🥱
Personally I wasn't looking for threatening questions? A bit of actual information would have been nice though, getting a bit tired of " RBC have been great, want a better fan experience, the whole stadium needs improvement and I have been a supporter all my life, etc al. I've heard that all before. Several times.

I was just about to throw away the box the membership scarf came in when I noticed there was something else in there. On further inspection it turns out they have printed all of the inside of the box.
Why would you do that, am I supposed to to something with it? 🤔

"Non threatening" seems a bit like you wanted them to clench a fist and demand answers :ROFLMAO:

Ive not watched it myself, sounds shite.

Agree - ‘threatening’ was the wrong word.
Challenging would’ve been more appropriate ( now corrected )

That's the new enclosed end for the corners of the ground. They're gonna be asking members to send their boxes back as a cheaper alternative to the shipping containers.

Nottingham's dirty secret
Just seen Leicester's proposed expansion and redevelopment of the King Power & the area round it. Takes capacity to 40k with a striking new expansion to one of the stands & a small arena & hotels nearby.

Made me ponder:

A) our design (as per the renders) is so bloody boring. No imagination at all. I'm really surprised Benoy haven't gone for something a bit more innovative. At this rate it'll look out of date before it's even finished. Look at Leicester's, Everton's, Fulham's & Villa's proposals. Unique & exciting. Ours just feels.....vanilla in comparison. My opinion of course.

B) all this pissing about for an extra 5k seats. I get we'll have more hospitality etc but an extra 10k seems perfect to me. It'll still be very bloody difficult to get tickets if the capacity is only increased by that much. Not to mention the extra income more seats would bring.

I do hope Tom is exploring the possibility of a more innovative/striking design and hopefully the possibility of adding more seats. If we're staying where we are- let's make it a future-proof home to be proud of.

l didn’t get a sense that the design was under reconsideration nor was a change in capacity.

Which is a shame in my book. Benoy are anything but safe/ boring normally when it comes to the design aspect. You couldn't ask for a better architect firm. Have a ganders at their previous and current projects.

I'm still hoping that it looks more exciting than the renders or that they've had a re-think about a few things.

I think the current designs were influenced somewhat by the fact that we’d been out of the Premier League for a long time (which obviously came with financial constraints) and couldn’t say for sure at that point when we’d get back into the big time. Although nothing was suggested in this interview, it’s possible that the plans we’ve seen may receive a bit of finessing now whilst reasonably respecting the designs that have already been granted planning permission, and at least not be subject to the sort of value engineering that could make the final outcome look worse than what’s been proposed. Not many buildings look as good as the renders (that custard-coloured abomination Lace Market Point at the top of London Road on the BBC island in Nottingham, to name one example), but you get the occasional exception, such as Nottingham Contemporary, which looked like a load of shipping containers cobbled together in the renders and turned out to be quite striking with its finely cast green concrete panels featuring lace patterns and what not.

They’ll know they’ve got to reach a high standard anyway.
