Raymondo still steadfastly refuses to believe that the 22 clubs at the top of the pyramid at the time broke away from the Football League.

He also endorses Ruddles Bitter.
As a relative newbie here I am loathe to be presumptuous, but surely said poster is joking about the Ruddles bitter?

Same here but if everyone who was disappointed by the atmosphere contributed to the atmosphere the place would be rocking again.
Can't disagree with that. Some people are obviously a bit more reserved, but I've always let myself go at football. You're 100% correct though, there will be lots of people moaning about the atmosphere and doing bugger all about it themselves.

Same here - I’m sure the woman sat next to me on Sat “tutted” at me when I got annoyed at one point! 😂

The blame is firmly at the door of the manager and players for me.....

First game you could see Bournemouth's goal a mile off... Wolves we scored, conceded straight away and then might as well wrapped proceedings up there as the game was done and then Fulham if we'd have all left and gone home i doubt we'd have scored a goal even now.

Boring, predictable and flat all three games atmosphere, players, tactics, manager.. bet even the ales flat served in the ground.... everything.... wank.

Give me something to cheer and ill cheer, bore me to f*** and ill act bored.

Even a day tripper would contemplate kicking f*** out his half and half scarf having watched that shite.

Yes it is!
And some people thought I was slipping back into old miserable mode when I suggested home form may be becoming a bit of a concern.
Its a good job the rest of the matchday experience is so good otherwise people might be disappointed paying 40 / 50 quid a ticket Captain.

Your dad is correct the old trent end was amazing and in alot of ways I'd go back to those times in an instant but obviously the terraces as they were then will never come back also helped you had to get in there an hour before kick off before they wouldn't let any more in the middle pen so the atmosphere would build a long time before kick off but it's different times now and alot less working class (not saying this is a bad thing but i think it contributes) and there would still be some atmospheres better than others we seem to only remember the good occasions there have been alot of dark glum and silent days down the city ground that on a whole I try to forget.
As for how it goes from here it's a weird thing a football atmosphere and kind of organic and cooper captured it perfectly and was a master of keeping it and with the timing of us getting promoted then staying up against the odds it truly built it to a crescendo trouble is if this year is going to end up as comfortable as I believe it will I don't know how to keep that going it can't be forced because it's always obvious and crap hence the clappers you refranced sometimes as alot of things in life the journey is actually better than the destination.
I hope we crack the code but pretty much the whole of the Premier League has failed to do this there is alot of teams that used to have very passionate and loud fanbases and it's just gone I was shocked at anfield this year first time I've been for years at what that has become.
Anyway we all want the same thing hopefully we can achieve it
I loved it in that middle pen. Atmosphere was electric even with 15 - 20K crowds.

We hit a magical atmosphere at the City Ground on that Steve Cooper journey, all the way up to May 2023 on the Arsenal survival day. Since then, it has been pretty average. As we find our level in the Premier League, home games against the likes of Bournemouth, Fulham, Palace, Brentford etc become a bit run of the mill; it's just the natural progression of things.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still like a kid in a sweet shop and get the buzz of excitement with every game, but I do understand that things can start to wane after a while. When the bigger teams come to the City Ground, the fans can get up for it, but it's hard to motivate the crowd for the average game. Of course, it comes down to performance as well - Forest were pretty dire on Saturday, in fact they were awful, so it's no wonder the crowd were quiet.

The club have also alienated a few fans; I know a family of 3 who sit near me and they share 2 season tickets between them' sometimes the Dad goes with the kid, sometimes the Mum etc. They're worried that they're going to get caught out because the Mum and Dad are basically sharing the season ticket, which isn't strictly allowed. They've never said it was worth getting 3 tickets due to cost and the Mum and Dad are happy to share. It's these sort of the situations that the club should allow.

At away games, the atmosphere is incredible, at Brighton, Hudson-Odoi was very appreciative when he was serenaded with his song. I think Nuno could sometimes do a little bit more, I know it's not his thing, but its important to build on the relationship with the fans. I find it disappointing that Forza have had problems with the club when organising the banners; no doubt they come up against a lot of bureaucratic nonsense.

I still believe the City Ground is one of the best places to create an atmosphere and if Nuno takes us to the next level and dare I say returns us to some European nights, then the ground will be rocking, because it's new and exciting. Next home game against Palace would be a great opportunity to try and return some of that magical atmosphere, even if Forza just remind fans about scarfs and get them held up high for MOK; that would be a start.

Not sure if Ruddles County is still avaliable, it was a much loved premium real ale. The Ruddles beer they serve in Wetherspoons is just a bog standard bitter however it's cheap bog standard that's why it sells.

I know not everyone liked it, but the "Forest are magic on and off the pitch" chant did get the place going. Since the dramatic price increase in season cards, it just can't be sung anymore.

We haven’t replaced the Stevie Cooper and Depeche Mode songs either. One bad result has shone a light on it. Clubs broken.

Magic off the pitch is stretching it somewhat.

To be fair to the security guy(s) I remember Colin Barrett playing for us but if he came up to me now and said he was him I'd struggle to be sure it was him. Brian Laws has been at City Ground games with Radio Nottingham quite often so there is a good chance that they know who he is by now. Don't put too much blame on the security guard that turned him away. His line management should have made sure that he had a picture or something so he didn't make the mistake. He ought to have sought help from his line management though.
Agree, Colin Barrett last kicked a ball for us 45 years ago, blaming a bloke for not recognising him is utterly ridiculous.

Probably born 20 years after Barretts last game 😂

I've posted this in another thread but given the current theme of discussion I'll repost it here.

Good to see Greg take a swipe at the "famous Anfield atmosphere" and tbf Carragher agreed with him too.

Also a point of interest was others saying about how the new distribution of tickets systems has effected atmospheres, something we're now experiencing ourselves. This is going to simply come down to how much clubs will care about that as to whether they do something about it. If pure profit is coming first then it will continue to become more sanitised.

The security people are probably getting paid like £7 an hour. They're not doing it because they love Forest, they're doing it because they need some money.
