Had some pretty nice things to say about us on Ben Foster's Podcast.

Was he ever actually club captain? I always thought he on-field captain for an extended period of time but I thought Cohen was still club captain (he was just out injured).
I do see your point though. He hardly covered himself in glory in those last few months, particularly when he allegedly refused to play until Villa signed him. He was a very frustrating and arrogant (plus a walking yellow card). I never really got why successive managers were obsessed with playing him as this deep-lying playmaker like he was Pirlo, when he couldn't tackle and was nothing more than a decent passer. He played his best football under SOD and Billy Mk II where he was more of a box-to-box player and got in around the opposition box.

Yeah you're probably right re the captain status. He was the on the field captain at the time when "his head wasn't right" so he played golf with his mates instead of some crap FA cup 3rd round. Or something like that.

Sort of epitomised that Forest era when we had a few talented players but they were always better at another club, with some of them only here to rinse Forest for money.
That we got £3m with his contract running out in six months was hilarious. As was the "we are definitely going down now" reaction on here at the time when he was sold, only for us to get stronger as a midfield unit and 11 after he left.
Genuinely one of my least favourite Forest players of all time. Shit tattoos too.

I think he had played the "I'm off to Burnley" card to rinse Fawaz for more money too many times, by the time he actually left most were pleased to see the back of the workshy idle fop.

He would have the odd impressive game for us ie, Barnsley away but ultimately I was glad when he left and we got £3 million for him which was amazing business. Not a player I remember fondly. Mercenary.
