I know Neco has improved but he's not in Cash's league. MC is probably only behind Walker and James in the league in my opinion.
Neco had a much better year last season than Cash did.

He didn't even make the Poland squad. Poland must have some incredible players to turn down the 3rd best right back in the strongest league in the world.

Matty is a great player but he did not have a good year last year & certainly not in the company you have put him in.

Porro, White
Trent Alexander Arnold? Dalot? Trippier? Tomiyasu? The Muñoz lad at Palace. Malo Gusto was fantastic deputising for James.

Emery played Konsa ahead of Cash at right back for a lot of the season!

I love Matty Cash, but he's not even in the top 10 right backs in the Premier League let alone the top 3, surely?

Whilst he's still probably too good for our level and is more suited to a West Ham, I'd love to throw 15-20m at Harry Maguire. His wages would need to come down in-line with CHO around 100k PW and he will have zero re-sale value. But for 3 seasons we have a head it, kick it centre half with bags of experience.

His main attribute is what we lack the most in this team too and that's leadership.

His injury record has been really poor recently. I'd prefer Tarkowski myself. Similar player without the baggage. I guess both are unobtainable though so we need cheaper alternatives.

If you took wages out of the equation, Maguire would be a perfect signing. Experience, size and if he’s allowed to focus on just defending he’s great.

But those wages are going to be the issue and I don’t see them dropping enough to make him a viable option

I'd prefer Tarkowski but he's a stalwart for Everton. You're right about Maguire's injuries though with a groin injury earlier in the season and now a muscle injury and would be too great a risk over £15m. Under; then I'm still happy.

Annoying that Everton got Tarkowski on a free!

No way !! Has that Greek assault case been dropped (cough cough out-of court settlement/pay off).

Maguire / Terry = pretty much the same. Cry babies and revolting.

My lad was looking through Mendes' client list and we spotted Portuguese Pepe has been released by Porto after 22 league appearances and 7 in the Champions League.

We have a dirty crazy CB void now that Felipe has gone. Would bring much needed leadership and a winner's mentality.

Obviously we're relying heavily on Mendes here and a potential PL itch that Pepe may want to scratch for a season, but it's fun to speculate.

Watching him last night against France and he defies science at his age.

I would have Pepe in a heartbeat.

Even at 41, he’s defying his age and still is able to properly organise a defence.

One moment against France, he absolutely sent Randal Kolo Muani to the shops.

We need better coaching and reinforcements, if you look at the euros nearly every team has been as reliable as (insert your favourite expression here). Tight defence quick transition please.

John Terry was one of the best central defenders in his era, for nearly a decade.

If that’s Maguire, sign me up

Pepe was a true great, but I doubt he could handle a whole season in the Premier League, despite him looking very fit.
at his age, recovery after a game will take longer, and Prem football is physical and played at a relentless pace.

Although we have a recruitment department, you'd like to think Nuno will have given them a list of players. I'm hoping we've enquired about Jacob Greaves from Hull if it's financially realistic, plus he shares the same agent as MGW and Elanga, which will makes us a delight to deal with.

Of course it's easy enough to spend other people's money, but the deal Ipswich are trying to do for Greaves and Philogene does look a good one, but not at the expense of bringing in more **** hot Brazilian prospects.

That Philogene will make a dent in the right setup...

Early days, but one of the best back 4s in the division?

Top 6 surely.

I don’t think we can seriously claim that without a better keeper. Sels has done ok, but he’s not top half quality.

Edit: I realise you said back 4, but surely have to include GK in the unit
