The big fat Wembley logistics thread

Totally forgot it was window 6 today but managed to snag myself one at 18:30, at that time there were just a couple of tickets that were appearing and disappearing so I'm pretty near the back.

Probably getting well ahead of myself but would the allocation for the final be the same; ie I would be a Myforest member with 2 FA cup tickets so would I be window 5, or would window 5 change to my forest with 3 tickets?

There will be a much reduced allocation for the final. I imagine should we get there only season ticket holders and some top tier members would get tickets.

I was on that train - which was the only way of getting back to London given that the St Pancras line was closed due to being electrified. You would have thought they’d have put more carriages on - but clearly nobody at EMR had considered it might be a bit busy… was a nightmare in both directions.
I'm afraid that this happens on a regular basis.

They know about the over-crowding and refuse to do anything about it. Its not safe and not comfortable.

When the St Pancras line is shut, most come via Grantham and change. I have pointed this out to management several times but they simply refuse to sort anything out. It certainly came to a head the other season, when Crystal Palace were the visitors, and the overcrowding was so bad, that a conductor refused to take a train, and the police were called.

Certainly not helped by the platform staff at Nottingham looking like that they just finished school last week!

Why reduced ticket numbers for the Final?
Our supporter numbers won’t have fallen.
Wembley’s capacity will be the same.
There will only be us and 1 other team involved.
Why out ticket allocation be less?

Nothing will be confirmed until closer to the time, but based on the past two seasons, both finalists can expect to receive a ticket allocation of around 30,000 tickets.

For the 2024 FA Cup final, Manchester United and Manchester City were allocated 30,000 tickets each; in 2023, both clubs received 30,500. In addition to these tickets, both clubs will receive an extra allocation for staff and players' family and friends.

As a result, we should only expect fans of the competing clubs to fill around two-thirds of Wembley Stadium.

The “football family” and sponsors etc get the other 1/3. Bullshit!

For the final, the FA have always allocated a sizeable chunk of tickets to the football family. That includes all FA affiliated clubs right through the pyramid. The local team I used to play for get 2 tickets every year.

In the last two years, each team have been allocated c30,000 tickets.

I know someone that got a cup-final ticket through his very minor non-league club. It was his first ever football match, and he's never been to another one since.

Looking at the City forum they are suggesting they might struggle to sell 25k for this think 30k is the best they will sell !!!

They started selling later than us but I guess 28 Semi Finals in 14 years maybe sections of their fans only bother with the Final. Its only what their forum members are saying so it is far from gospel. They are talking about letting season ticket holders buy up to 4 tickets each to boost sales!!!

Or The Huddersfield Gambit, as I believe it is known. IIRC, while we were wanting and being refused more tickets for the play-off final they were letting their fans buy multiple tickets (I think it might’ve been something daft like 7 but at least 4) each to try to fill their end.

Did that not backfire as some of their fans then sold those tickers to Forest fans lol

Yes if this was the final I'd doubt it would have got past window 3 before selling out, maybe window 4.

Are the bars in the stadium open after the game?

Let the buggers watch it on Telly!
Football is for the real fans, not the hangers-on!
They should offer 50% of ground capacity to each of the finalists.
Any unsold after a deadline could then be offered up to the rest of the world.
And there should be a ban on corporates getting tickets, which then use them to bribe politicians, and to celebrities from any walk of life.
The cult of celebrity should be eliminated from human society.

You are joking!
The bars shut immediately they have sold out of product, which is generally either before kick off or part way through half time.
And anyone wanting to pay the userous prices for crap beer inside the stadium is not right in the head!

If anyone is still looking for tickets, I'd definitely suggest logging on again around 12pm. There might be a few single seats that keep cropping up.

We may get more than our initial allocation this week.

Although, we've snapped up tickets relatively quickly and a lot quicker than City, if Forest did secure a couple of thousand more, would they sell out?

I know there's a few on here still looking, but how may more members are out there beyond window 6?

There are still ticket touts who will grab any allocation.
I know there are controls in place, but as in everything, the touts are always 1 step ahead of the authorities.
And do the touts actually care if their customers are refused entry on touted tickets?
No they don't.

I recon there are loads of fans with basic membership who haven't attended any cup games this season. More than did attend and would certainly be interested in a Wembley visit.

I’ve received no email alert to say my purchase window opens today. It’s all very quiet from the club at the moment.

They've probably sold out, but waiting to see if they get another allocation. I should expect an announcement this week saying - sell out and no more released or sold out of initial allocation.
