I would love it if you beat Liverpool next week, even if in a more realistic footballing world we have more chance of catching up with you than them.

I'm not fully convinced by Liverpool still. There's a blip to come from them, it may have already started.

Hopefully mate.

It could be your first domestic trophy in 70 years if you win the Cup.

You then play them (Liverpool…can’t see Spurs winning) three days later in the league.

Would be great if you could do the double over them!!

They are nowhere near as good as people are making out

Just other teams have declined

They have 1 more point than this time last season when they finished 3rd. "Manager of the season", it's embarrassing.

The other thing with the mickey mousers is the possibility of their three out-of-contract „stars“ lining themselves up a nice lucrative foreign move over this window?

The prospect of „Trent“, „Virgil“ and „Salad“ phoning it in for the rest of the season could be hilarious.

Even better would be Yatesey putting cheaty Mo into row Z and out for the season. Think that would end their title ambitions on the spot. Injured and no contract would be bloody funny after all the flirting with other clubs he’s done!

I currently don't believe we are in with a shout of the title

But beat them scousers on tues night and I just might believe i can't wait for this game night match the atmosphere is going to be amazing and I don't think after there last couple of performances there going to be looking forward to it one bit let's make it a nightmare for them

Don't get why people are so quick and so happy to say we're not in a title battle.

We're six points off the top half way through the season. Arsenal are apparently in the title race so if they are, then we must be.

Our goose might be cooked if we lose on Tuesday and Liverpool win their game in hand. If that happens then there's no chance we're closing a 12 point gap with 17 games remaining.

But right now that hasn't happened, and we're in with a shout of the title. It sounds ludicrous I get it, but Forest are here on merit and are more likely to replicate H1 than to tail off. If we do that we get to high 70s, probably not enough to win it but it's still a title challenge.

Six points off the top with Liverpool also having a game in hand. Which granted they're not guaranteed to win but it's against Everton so I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope.

Given our relatively weak goal difference, in order to win the title, we'd basically need to be 3 wins and a draw better than Liverpool across the remaining 18 games, which is a big ask. Beating them next week would be a good dent in that, but the title would still be a long shot. Arsenal are slightly better off than us as their goal difference is much closer.

Basically, at this point, it's Liverpools title to lose.

I agree.

Liverpool are rightly strong favourites.

But people saying we should just be happy with 6th and the Supercomputer giving us a 0.02% chance of winning the title are only basing that on our club name rather than our results and form.

Betting markets give us a 2.5% chance of winning the title. If we beat Liverpool on Tuesday that will at least double.

Sure, the scousers are the favourites.

But they’ve still got to play Forest, as have the Arsenal.

It’s absolutely fair to say Forest are in the title race, because those games alone will have an effect on the race itself, even if Forest don’t end up as - perhaps wholly unexpected - Champions?

Although I think Liverpool and Arsenal will drop quite a few points so the title race will be close, I still think 6th is most likely for us.
I think City will catch us, as will Chelsea. We might edge out Newcastle to grab 5th, which honestly would still be an incredible achievement.

If Forest were nowhere near the top end, I’d still be looking at Liverpool right now with their ever so slightly stuttering form, their off-field noise and their history of screwing it up, and I’d be wondering if maybe somebody - probably Arsenal - was going to catch them.

But Arsenal also don’t look as irresistible as they have done, without Saka. So maybe Chelsea… but they haven’t won in 4 and they’ve not truly threatened a title in almost a decade. Is Man City’s resurgence real, and is it too late anyway…? Could Newcastle sustain what they’re doing 🤷🏻‍♂️

And in amongst all that is us - a club that’s as confident and happy as it’s been in 30 years. There’s enough in there to make it very interesting for us. Part of why we’re so over-looked is that we haven’t demonstrated staying power at the top end of the table yet. You could even see us beating Liverpool and then losing our heads a bit. The Leicester-esque vibe of ‘surprise package’, ‘never in the race until we’ve actually won the race’ is the right way to approach this. Course we’re in the race, but that others don’t think we are is great news.
