Indeed. And if Forest are playing crap he tells it how it is and doesn’t wear rose coloured Forest specs.Agree! Absolute legend and it isn't until you hear other commentators on local radio that you realise how good we've got it.

Based on the effects it's had on Newcastle and Villa in the last couple of years I think the extra mental and physical demands on the squad that most of the players won't be used to (basically playing a Championship style season, weekend/mid-week) will see us fall back a bit. The club should be stronger overall in the long term but for next season expect a bit of a drop off in the league, but would still be hopeful of chasing a Europa spot in the 7th / 8th position.Change of subject: Forest are flying this season, and doing the double is still a possibility (remote, but possible). European competition next season is a probability.
However, what do Forum members think our Premier League position will be next season?
Maintaining and improving on this season is going to be a big, big challenge.
Will we repeat the glory that is ours today, or is it a flash in the pan?
I think it will genuinely depend on how many of our current squad we can keep together.Change of subject: Forest are flying this season, and doing the double is still a possibility (remote, but possible). European competition next season is a probability.

That's my feeling too - we are so dependent on the recruitment/retention/riddance equation being in perfect balance!I think it will genuinely depend on how many of our current squad we can keep together.
Recruitment is difficult to stay good/lucky at, over a long period, if we start to lose the stars that we have found.
The Premier League is an arms-race. We're now at the end of the table where we are competing with clubs who can, in real terms(and perhaps more importantly FFP terms), throw bags more cash at their own recruitment and retention, which gives them a whole lot more room for error and risks. That's my feeling too - we are so dependent on the recruitment/retention/riddance equation being in perfect balance!
This summer's transfer window is going to absolutely crucial... again!
Agreed-I think it’s highly plausible that we might see a drop off in league results if (as seems likely) we reach Europe. That's my feeling too - we are so dependent on the recruitment/retention/riddance equation being in perfect balance!

If Nottingham Forest start to lose or haemorrhage the quality players to our rivals then as Leicester we're looking at possible relegation. Why? Other Clubs are now realising and challenging acquiring our targeted players, especially since finding Murillo. Thus when our network of scouts identify a possible hidden talent, the Top Six Clubs utilise their financial clout or European Football outlook to simply entice their Agent and Player. Simply this Club can't financially compete currently. However, what do Forum members think our Premier League position will be next season?
I can only ask that you excuse me, but I'm a little confused as to your overall point mate. Are you suggesting that we concentrate on establishing ourselves in the PL before having a go for Europe? If Nottingham Forest start to lose or haemorrhage the quality players to our rivals then as Leicester we're looking at possible relegation. Another issue that could cause similar problems is through overstretching our First team and Squad players through European Football. All the evidence highlight that playing in Europe does affect domestic performances and consequently results and league position suffer. Worringly the difference between Top six Clubs and relegation sides are marginal, just think what would happen if Chris Woods was injured, or players form and confidence suffered, or simply players leave i.e. Aina. The team loses cohesion, and balance.
Ironically we're at a crossroads. Invest well, through acquiring future players that would improve our overall first team and squad. Although more importantly keep the current crop of players especially Ola Aina. We should cement our place in the Premiership for another season. It honestly feels like the aftermath of the 1994-5 season all over again. If we make a stupid mistake like then by selling key players like Lars Bohenin(Blackburn 1995) and Collymore (Liverpool 1995) our chances will rapidly diminish. So ultimately Forest need to communicate with all senior players and their agents and mutually commit for another season to chase for success at Domestic and European level
Unfortunately cannot commit to Premiership position this term let alone next season as there are too many variables currently.

If you are, how does that work?
Happy with top half tbh. Forest are absolutely way ahead of the plan EM stated, those incremental improvements are happening regardless, fans base juts needs to go with it in the same way we’ve gone with NunoChange of subject: Forest are flying this season, and doing the double is still a possibility (remote, but possible). I didn't know he said that and I'd not thought about it but he's absolutely correct. In the last week I've had a message off someone that I've not spoken to for 5 years and another from someone 20 years ago.Just got a message from an engineer in Africa I worked with over 15 years ago to say he is pleased Forest are back.
Nick Hornby was correct you remember friends and colleagues by the football clubs they follow.
Lol we invented nowtI've just seen something that described us as "the club that invented giant killing, then became the giant"
Nothing to add, I just really liked it.

I'm going to stick with it as we were defeating proper giantsLol we invented nowt
Hereford were beating Newcastle whilst Clough was defying the odds at Derby
It's a lovely suggestion but total bollocks
