Rio Ave shoe in as it stands! Carmo I wonder about for us...
Think he probably stands a better chance but hasn't he been in and out of the Oly team this season also?

Looks like he has played most of the time but had a knock that cut a couple of games short and kept him out for a few.Think he probably stands a better chance but hasn't he been in and out of the Oly team this season also?
That's my wonder with him - if Boly moves on I'd expect Carmo to come in, assuming he's happy to come and fight for a spot in a pretty well established CB group. I also assume he'd come in if we were to cash in on Murillo. If no one goes I wonder if he'd be happier where he is?He could easily walk into Boly's role in the squad IMO, it's tailor made for him.
As I said, he did not start the season well. He is steadily improving, and I'd say he is close to his last season standards.Looks like he has played most of the time but had a knock that cut a couple of games short and kept him out for a few.
@GreeksBearingGifts knows much more and has said he hasn't quite been up to his levels from last year, but that may have changed?
Whether he comes to us depends on a few things I think: how much he wants the Prem, would he be happy as a squad player and what the original plan with the deal was - he may have been an Oly signing all along?
Thanks for the info - I was a bit surprised by just how positive that breaking the lines article was given I remember you saying he'd started OK but some way off last year's levels. Glad he's getting back to it.As I said, he did not start the season well. He is steadily improving, and I'd say he is close to his last season standards.
Very few players are coming in and ousting Wood, he’s literally world class at the minuteHe'd be a decent backup to Wood but he's hardly 'take us to the next level' standard.
I think he is the type of Striker Nuno likes.I'm a fan of Mateta as I've said before.
Mateta is an excellent player, IMO. I'd be very happy if we landed him. He'd be a decent backup to Wood but he's hardly 'take us to the next level' standard.
Wood is 34 next season so the ideal solution is to bring in a younger understudy/long term replacement, I’d prefer Delap he’ll be Englands new number 9 once Kane retires.Very few players are coming in and ousting Wood, he’s literally world class at the minute
Mateta is the closest thing to Wood in the league both in style but he’s also an excellent finisher
He would be a great signing
Even if Boly stays, and potentially with European football to consider, I think we'll need a fifth CB - unless Bindon is earmarked for that role? That's my wonder with him - if Boly moves on I'd expect Carmo to come in, assuming he's happy to come and fight for a spot in a pretty well established CB group. I think Abbott will take a CL spot as a homegrown player? I’m sure he’ll be ecstatic travelling to Europe for at least 4 away games.Even if Boly stays, and potentially with European football to consider, I think we'll need a fifth CB - unless Bindon is earmarked for that role?
Abbott will still be U21 next season (and the one after), so won't count towards the 25 man squad regardless. If Nuno wants to keep him around then there won't be any restrictions, same as this season in the league.I think Abbott will take a CL spot as a homegrown player?
