Our big error was to tweet without thinking it through.

A key principle in business is ‘act in haste - repent at leisure’.

We’ve lost the high ground on VAR decisions and landed ourselves in more bother.

Whether we like it or not our charge list in the PL is far too long. Worse still we don’t appear to learn.

I’m still hopping mad at the decisions though!

We don't know if we have asked behind closed for explanations so have now decided that we aren't getting anywhere that way, so having to go public with what we are doing. It wont have been a decision taken lightly, even the players talking about it to the press seems to show it is a premeditated move.

Earlier in the season, we complain about inexplicable decisions after the game, get slapped down.
Later in the season, we complain about inexplicable decisions by writing to the PGMOL after the game, get slapped down.
After that in the season, we complain about inexplicable decisions, on the pitch after the game, get slapped down.
There are no other routes of approved protest.
The last resort is effectively to choose violence.

I'm not surprised the PL call themselves "disappointed" - they're disappointed that their house of cards is being seriously threatened.

I understand your view and I think that we are both highly frustrated with the the repeated errors.

i just believe the Club acted too quickly with the tweet. The press (unfairly) are all over us. We can do without the fuss.

So should we just do as we are told and move on without so much as worrying about it?

I would agree if it was a isolated incident, but it has been going on all season and potentially going to cost us our place in the supposed best league in the world. But yeah don't kick up a fuss, just be a good boy and get back in out box.

Indeed

It seems to be every game these days, doesn't even feel like they're attempting to hide anything now.

I've heard that our post on Sunday evening has had 50 million views.

Quite a lot really for a small provincial club. Just shows, you've got to choose your topic carefully.

Attwell was in charge when we were denied a penalty against Bournemouth due to an incorrect offside call. He was in charge when we had Worrall sent off and a penalty given against us v Manchester United. Attwell was on VAR on Sunday. He doesn't seem to do that well refereeing us. Apart from the disallowed Derby goal years ago.

He was shite for both teams in that Derby game though. I seem to recall he sent one of our players off for cack all way before Lee Camp saved that penalty and the disallowed goal in stoppage time.

Haste? It's been going on all season.

It's really interesting looking at it though.

We've had Gillett twice - vs Villa (2-0) and Spurs (0-2) under Cooper. Don't recall any controversy which went against us in either match.
We might have been 5-0'ed by Fulham but I don't think Josh Smith (a select 2 ref) did anything to affect that
We've had Samuel Barrott twice, Wolves 1-1 and Villa 4-2 and didn't recall anything odd happening there either
Likewise Bournemouth with Rebecca Welch

It's been mainly when we've had Oliver, Shatwell, Jones, Tierney or Taylor where things have gone a bit weird.

Interestingly, the Spurs match had our last use of the VAR monitor at home as well, with the sending off incident being referred for an upgrade IIRC.

The more I think about it, the more it seems pretty obvious that Sunday was PGMOL flexing their muscles. No we aren’t changing the VAR, and what’s more this is what happens when you ask. Or ‘raise concerns’ anyway.

Some will say we should have just said nothing in the first place of course. And now we’ve upped the ante again.

Yes, Jarred's main fault is that he's lenient, but he is consistent with it and doesn't favour particular teams when doing so.

Don't recall him attracting much controversy either since coming over from Aus, ironic our best ref isn't one of ours really.

I think if you were a premier league ref you'd tell your family you're a train driver and encourage them to follow tennis.
