Re: Saunders Out.

He did ok at Wrexham (shit everywhere else as manager), but even their supporters can't stand him these days. Partly due to the Doncaster thing, but also due to the prickish comments he makes on BT Sport.

Re: Saunders Out.

Cant stand him when hes been on the radio.

'When I played for Livepool . . . .'
'When I played with Giggsy . . . .'
'When I managed . . . .'

When hes back on he can add 'When I was doing time . . . .'

I'm sure hes got them in stitches with his after dinner routine.

Re: Saunders Out.

Was it Saunders who ridiculed Brian Clough’s alcohol issue in a funny story? If so the irony isn’t lost on me.

Really? Sauce?

From https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/sep/07/brian-clough-dean-saunders-nottingham-forest

I know what some of the players from Clough’s European Cup-winning teams think about it and I put in a call to Hill this week.

“It’s a good after-dinner speech but unfortunately most of it isn’t true,” he told me. “Brian wasn’t drunk, he wasn’t crawling on his hands and knees, he didn’t sit facing a wall, he didn’t mention the carpet once and there was no flowerpot … it just feels like he [Saunders] has put this story through a very imaginative scriptwriter and this is what they’ve come up with.”

All rather awkward, I’m sure you will agree. “Brian liked a drink and we all know he had a situation towards the end but he wasn’t drunk that day at all,” Hill continued. “He didn’t do the things that have been said and I’ve no idea why he [Saunders] would say them.

Fair enough. What a nob.

Assuming he gets to live with the general population, a lot of his after dinner money will go on protection.

Now who's laughing.

Yes Si, it was. I was going to suggest he'll have a new, captive audience for his pathetic, cheap-shot Cloughie 'anecdote'.

Oh come on ffs

The time I have heard Saunders tell that story it’s nothing more than a funny story. He’s not in any way saying anything about BC

Has he actually been placed in chokey yet?
I understood that his Brief was appealing the sentence for being too harsh.

If you think that taking the piss out of someone no longer with us by grossly exaggerating a situation for his own benefit is funny then fair enough.

I've often wondered if he's crossed paths with Nigel since he aired that to the nation.

It’s juts a funny story. Everyone knew BC liked a drink it wasn’t a secret

99.9% of stories from ex pros will be exaggerated to the nines

I’m more shocked at how Saunders seems to be hated more than anything else

Re: Saunders Out.

It's a shit story too tho tbf Ash. The humour in it relies on making Clough out to be a bit of a bumbling idiot, and even at his most drunk & foolish he was still sharper than Saunders & 99% of people Saunders will have met or worked with.

It's like hearing a made-up story about Pearce crying after he got a paper-cut. It feels off on the whole

Well then If that’s the case then anyone who has ever dead any literature or watched any film about Brian Clough should think the same as what they do about Dean Saunders 4 minute story as that’s all glorified and exaggerated

Some of the books on Brian Clough and the stories in side are frankly absurd. I bet it didn’t stop you continuing to read them though did it

Even the man himself would of spoken bollocks to make the story or situation miles better than it was

Re: Saunders Out.

He disrespected Clough
He played for Liverpool
He played for Derby.
He's Welsh.

How many more reasons do we need?

He played for us...

If your saying he disrespected Clough in that short story he told and that’s all the evidence you have to suggest he ‘disrespected’ him then sorry but that’s a pathetic pint of view about a bloody anecdote told on Alan Brazil’s talkSPORT radio show
